i suggest you seek the insurer advice. that one cannot go wrong. any claims on lowlee insurance will have to be lodged by your dad insurer.

I wish your dad speedy and complete recovery from his injuries. Did you get the road name correct? No T-junction with traffic lights there? Only cross junction with traffic lights?

Good Evening Bros and Sis

I am Cerano's son.

Today my dad was involved in a very bad accident with a Lorry which ran a light and drifted and rammed into him while he was on his way to work on a motorbike.

This accident occured at roughly 9am off Jurong Town Hall Road at the T Junction beside the Science Centre.

I am appealing to all motorists who were in the area and were live witnesses to step up.

My dad is now having an operation with multiple lacerations and trauma to his legs as well as 5 fractured ribs. The Lorry literally flattened the motorbike.

Please pass the word and help me out here.

Thank you

May your dad (Bro Cerano) recover quicky and be well again soon! My best wishes!!!

Any witness please do come forward to help.

These FW drivers should be banned from driving in SG.

They are bringing their 3rd world driving ways into a 1st world country. [shakehead]

Hope witness come forward to help.

Really scared of these FW drivers.

Heard they don't even need to go for practice drive to convert.

Guess it's the same as us going to another country with our SG license.

But my driving instructor friend told me he has encountered FW drivers who cannot even start a vehicle and admitted that they bought their licenses from where they come from.

My heart goes out to your daddy. Go down to the accident scene and try to visualise the accident, accident report must be accurate, seek your legal insurance and medical claim for your dad 1st, the burden will not be so great, fight the case later.

here wishing him a speedy recovery, all d best bro!

thanks to all bros for all the help and support so far

he is recuperating right now

from what i know the burden of defence lies on the lorry driver given that there has been injuries.

Do any law gurus have any idea what forms of legal recourse that can be taken?

Sue the company who owned the lorry as well as the driver.

Suing the company ensures that they are responsible for their drivers actions.

Problem is that would create a new class of license.

Those 16 foot lorry only need class 3 - so there iss no differentiation between "commercial" and "private" at the moment.

If say "all commercial drivers" that is creating a class of license of commercial drivers.

When I first came, had to pass the written test only. I wouldn't have minded also doing a practical test, but I would find the idea of having to take lessons quite annoying and over the top.

bros

my dad is awaiting one more operation

I really need eye witnesses to step forward or else the lorry driver will just lie.

Please spread the word

Thanks so much

no. the issue here is that all those foreign workers who are allowed to drive locally are only obliged to take a theory test and are allowed to convert their native licenses to valid ones here. The issue is the validity of their native licenses. I am not too sure whether out of 100 such licenses, how many are really legitimate. Plus the fact that the driving test in some countries is virtually a sham.

There are too many highlighted accidents involving FW driving lorries like there is no tomorrow. There is no reason why we should allow these people to continue this route of taking conversion tests given the balant statistical co-relation between this group of indviduals and road accidents.
