Bus stopping far from bus stops

I saw a few times in the morning when buses are too crowded..the driver would stop far from bus stops, like on the main road instead of the bus bay...like this morning it did and a car behind it had to stop abruptly. The bus bay was empty. I think the bus driver deliberately stop far away to avoid ppl from rushing in the back door instead of the front.

Isn't this dangerous? Anyone else saw this b4? Is this part of their standard operating procedure?

Now sure if it's their SOP but have seen them overshoot the bus-stop to let passengers alight but not to take up more when it's real packed.

I treat them just like cabs, keep a distance as they might just stop anytime anywhere... [laugh]

Neutral Newbie

it could be a case where there is already 1 bus at the bay.

the second bus came and park behind pick up passengers(out of bay)

the first bus leave the bay

u drive by and see the second bus outside the bay.
