Heartlander Turbocharged November 1, 2016 Share November 1, 2016 i got my Mazda Biante last Tuesday 25 Oct 2016 and realized my car sounds like Diesel Engine car when start the engine and aircon come out with warm air after sometimes then turn cold again and it happen few time during my 1 hr drive yesterday after come back from service center, i drove to the Mazda service center at Alexandra road, the service guy use computer to check and said everything normal but i can't accept that for new car. I don't understand why giving a deluxe version Mazda Biante why do not have power window and auto door lock which wortst then my previous 10 years old Toyota Wish. Sigh! Regret buying it now. The loud sound you heard is due to Skyactive engine getting warm up, due to compression ratio at 12 instead of usual 10. It only happen from cold start and would stop when the idle engine rpm reaches < 1000, meaning for a few minutes. It is definitely a good feature., something I would want for my next ride if possible, despite the startup noise. The rest are perhaps due to this ride being around since 2008 despite being facelifted in 2013. But looking at the bright side, this mean the ride should be rid of most kinks and be as reliable as a Toyota. Which is what most owners here will tell you, BORING in another word. I still like the exterior look though, more so than the other boxy category rides which resemble vans and hexxxxs very much imho. Some of the things you do not like can be improve easily and cheaply, like an aftermarket alarm system. The rest, just live with it lah. It would be more livable if you learn how to appreciate your ride more. Cheers. Those are not problems. There is power window also. There is no Mazda car without power windows. It is not the 80s. Ask your salesperson to guide you. He should be referring to those driver-side window feature, expecting all the windows to operate like that. To be fair, honda rides also like that iirc. ↡ Advertisement

Air con likely is due to istop when the car is stationary. turn off istop and the air con should work like you are used to. I personally find auto door lock irritating. To each his own. You mean the "D" in the display will change to "i"? I only know they have D, M and DM mode. Don't know got i.

Or you need to press a button to change it to M then can use the paddle shifter?? The video is for Mazda 6, but essentially same for Biante. Any time a paddle shifter is press, gear will be changed. Very very rarely, my idle fingers would press one of the 2 shifters accidentally resulting in loud engine noise due to wrong engine gear wrt current rpm. The next few seconds follow would be frantic stepping of brake to do recovery haha.

When the dashboard display 1 instead of D, the drive is in manual mode. Pressing the button on the gear stick or the down button on the steering will change the D to show the current gear. Where have all the Biante owners gone ... I have also been seeing more and more Biante on the road nowadays. Think a few have gone to the facebook forum, while the rest are just happily enjoying their rides without any worry. Actually if the ride is so reliable and trouble-free, why is there a need to post? People normally post to ask on some issues or to seek concurrence or to post good/bad review. To the lack of issues face, I mean, how many feel-good posting can one do? And with many being middle-age bigger-family men, that is why needing such a ride, life is very busy as it is lah to run all the errands. And even in the faceook forum, only a handful of people will post about the usual aesthetic changes they made to their cars. Though I suspect even a smaller handful would go ahead to do the changes after reading about them. Hope I answer your question well, haha. But isn't that speaking a lot about this ride in the first place?

Over the Biante FB group, there are things like door lighted scaff plates, signal lights at the sliding door grooves on both side, interior mod like floor mat and one member even got a $8k ICE system. Other makes & models have showcases their beauty after make-up and we Biante should do the same. This would bring more Biante owners to join members and give their feedbacks. ↡ Advertisement
