Am just waiting for a couple round of COEs before signing the dotted line for my first mpv........... I stay in the East but not Simpang Bedok area. And my missus is doing most of the driving fetching the kids and running errands. I not sure if it was my car you spotted, but I would gladly let you molest it if could spare the time. Take your time to consider your options. Noah looks good also. Cheers.

Heartlander Turbocharged May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Hi, what is the interest rate for Mazda cars loan? Mazda uses Hong Leong finance at 2.6%. No options were given when I booked in March this year.

Heartlander Turbocharged May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Was a bit angry when came across an article on a free tabloid on choosing mpv. The writer lumped this car under mid-size mpv while putting mazda8 under "Bigger and Better"! This is just typical ignorance shown by average people which I did not expect car writer to exhibit. The truth is that internal space of mazda8 is only marginally bigger than mazda5 and much smaller than Biante. And a pleasant side-effect of this enlarge space that I came to appreciate very much now is that the car will not heat up as fast or much under the sun compare to my previous mpvs. I attribute this to the increase air mass that need to be heated up to achieve the same level of un-pleasantness. Similarly I do not feel as hot while waiting in the car for my kids to finish their classes when I open up both sliding doors. It seems a lot of people have not seen this model. My colleagues, many long-time car owners, all cannot recognise this model and thought it is a PI model haha. But then again for the same reason I could not buy the visor here. Perhaps have to tong pang my friends/colleagues if they visiting Japan.
ER-3682 Supersonic May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 Agreed,Mazda 8 is a petrol drinker, performance also on par with Biante....Sometime Magazines editors cannot be trusted, for example,VW Golf 7,got "Car of the year" award last year,so many people go to buy,end up,alot of owners, bitten by this "German Lemon",so many problem+poor service,so many people sold their cars within 1 year. Wson 1st Gear May 26, 2014 Share May 26, 2014 (edited) When I read the Mazda japan offcial website, the center passenger seatbelts are not just a normal lapbelt like other cars, it is pull down from the roof and a 3-point seatbelt. What about the one selling in spore? Center belts also 3-point? Or lapbelt? This picture can show, 2nd row and 3rd row, can see the center belts hanging from the roof. Cracker 1st Gear May 27, 2014 Share May 27, 2014 hi, For the last couple of working days, I always see a Black Biante ( I think it is from the shape, I didn't take a closer look) at the waiting zone outside Millennium Tower... around 6 pm.. Both the centre seats in the middle row and 3rd row come with 3-point seatbelt, and not just lapbelt. hi, For the last couple of working days, I always see a Black Biante ( I think it is from the shape, I didn't take a closer look) at the waiting zone outside Millennium Tower... around 6 pm.. Is the owner a member of this forum too? Definitely not mine, in case you wondering. Agreed,Mazda 8 is a petrol drinker, performance also on par with Biante.... This one I agree very much as heard about it from a friend who got the ride recently, complained that its internal space not much bigger than previous sedan yet drink petrol like water. Actually now mazda8 is selling only at $156k, only $2k above my purchase price. But I would still have chosen biante even if mazda8 is cheaper as it serves the needs of my family much better. though market rate for new car is 1.8x%? or maybe I out touch liao HAHAHA Think interest rate has gone up to 2.x% territory for quite a while though got a few agents still dangle 1.8x% to lure customers. If you keen to know, can always open a poll thread to get feedback on current interest rates. I can start the ball rolling: Agent: Mazda Singapore Purchase Date: Mar/2014 Finance House: Hong Leong Finance Interest Rate: 2.6%

All vehicles under each respective categories are classified according to their exterior length and width and not based on the internal space. In Japan, Biante are definitely classified under mid size together with Honda stepwagon, Toyota Noah etc. Large size are Estima, Mazda 8 and Odyssey equivalent and Alphard/ Vellfire, Elysion and Voyager are considered x-large. Mazda 5, Honda Freed, Wish are all small sized MPVs.

The mid-size mpv are about the length of normal sedan at 4.6m while full-size mpv at about 4.8m. Biante is in-between but if the writer bother to look further abit, it is clear where it belongs. Anyway I am just pointing something very obvious out, it is up to you to accept it. Cheers.

Good thing my Japanese language proficiency is good enough to understand their language. Looking at Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan websites, all the Serena, Elgrand, Stepwgn, Odyssey, Stream, Biante, Mazda8, Mazda5, Noah, Voxy, Wish, Estima, Alphard are under Minivan category. There is no mid-size and big-size category, only minivan category. I not calling for blood, do not worry. We just share knowledge here. Cheers. Coolpica 4th Gear May 27, 2014 Share May 27, 2014 Test drove the Mazda 5 and Biante last Sunday. Mz 5 is pretty cramped, according to my family members who were seated at the 2nd and 3rd row, to them moving over to the Biante is akin to moving from a studio apt to a penthouse. The space is HUGE! All 3 rows are cooled comfortably.(Last Sunday was a pretty hot day) My family members had no complaints at all. Egress into and out of Biante is aslo very easy. I love the drive of Biante over Mz 5. On the same load, Mz 5 does struggle a bit but Biante has no such problem. Tested both cars with and w/o i stop. Suffice to say that i stop doesn't affect the acceleration much, pretty smiliar to my Wish. I just love the paddle shifts on Biante. Once engaged, the gears downshifted and the power just came on immediately. In summary, Biante is really a good car to get, if you have a huge family. If cruise control is added to Biante, it would be complete package!
