But $5k is very ex for a Jap watch, can get a nice piece of swiss automatic watch for that price.

Wonder what is the attraction of Spring Drive? good design? technology?

5k is low end swiss auto, most of the time ETA movement...

seiko spring drive is hand assembly...

+- 1s / day

i look at the movement, it so much smoother than a rolex...

Lots of other models available.

This guy sells JDM watches and ships them over to Singapore.

very good rep and well respected within the Seiko collector circle.

I think his prices is better than Thong Sia

US$8488 for a Seiko, I don't know about this spring stuff but I bought my GMT Master2 for less than that.

it depends what u want. my fren can well afford tag or rolex but the seiko springdrive attracted him.

he dont intend to buy a watch and resell it later so might as well by something based on 'like' rather than 'a brand follower'..

It is like comparing Lexus to Merc/BMW. There are some people whom prefer Lexus to German cars. Lexus has got good electronic and sound proofing, but they are priced around the same. For example, from my personal experience, the IS250 is quieter than the C200, but yet for the same price, I went for German cars.
