Hi all, is anyone familiar with the changi ferry terminal? I need to book tickets to desaru but there's not much info on it online. Any website for booking or tel number to call?

I read somewhere that parking at e terminal is free for travellers. Anyone parked car there during your trip before? I wonder whether it is safe!

Tks in advance for any advice

He refer Changi Ferry Terminal. No ferry to Batam. Only Palau Ubin and eastern part of Johor.

if you park at changi v which i did, that is payable via coupon..

its call Changi Point Ferry Terminal, best access from Changi V.. next to Ubin seafood..

You cant book tickets dude.. the various bumboats are owned by the owners.. you got to queue up early in the morning most likely just before 7am and queue at the counter... they need the boats to be filled before they go.. about $12.50 per person the last time i took... remember to bring passport, i had a friend thought we were going ubin so didnt bring sigh... once you arrive the terminal in msia you need to book your return trip, last ferry out ard 1-2pm after that you are on your own..

Tanah merah ferry terminal used to have, recently i check seems like no more this service... cost $38 return tickets exclude tax.. this ferry is similar to those going to Bintan.. nice and stable.. last ferry out is ard 6pm... pls confirm your return tickets upon arrival.. take note that after 4pm most taxi drivers already go home and sleep, ask the hotel to book early...

Your thread is being polluted by people who are confused between:

Changi Ferry Terminal and

Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

Keep Googling about Changi Ferry Terminal and you will find the info you need. If not just take a drive there and survey the area for itself. If some people here can't even tell the difference in name between these two, how can you trust what they are saying?

Thanks for your replies, I think there is really a lot of confusion here.

I need to get to Tanjong Belungkor Ferry Terminal, hence I should go to Changi Ferry Terminal, and not Tanah Merah Terminal. I really need to know whether I can get tickets in advance, or online. As I'll be heading to Desaru in a rather big group, I cannot purchase tickets only on that day itself.

Let me try to clear some doubts from what I know

Harbourfront Ferry Terminal: Goes to Batam... also serve crusises

Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal: Goes to Bintan... Also has ferry going to Desaru Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal

From what I know, the main operator of ferries is called Penguin boat, and Penguin company also owned the ferry that goes to Desaru which where I bought my tickets last year in Sept, which I depart and arrive from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. I did check in Jan this year and seems that there is not more ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal going to Desaru on Penguin Website.

CHANGI POINT FERRY TERMINAL (This is near Changi V): Goes to Pulau Ubin.... Also serve Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal, via bum boats... This is NOT a ferry, its a BUMBOAT

CHANGI FERRY TERMINAL (This is near Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal): They used to go to Desaru. they used to have ferry that allow you to drive your car onto the ferry for a small fee and you could board the ferry to travel to the Ferry Terminal, from there you could drive your car off the ferry to explore the places and return the same way, but such has already been ceased for sometime. They still have some ferry operating from Changi Ferry Terminal Unsure whether if they still have ferry operating out of it to Desaru.

(the last time I took a drive there, the place seems closed)

In summary

For Ferries to Desaru:

Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal: Penguin Boat

Changi Ferry Terminal: Ferry also but can call Changi Ferry Terminal to Find out if still in operation

Bum Boats to Desaru

Changi Point Ferry Terminal: Bum Boat

Let's identify who is confused.

Donut: he is talking complete nonsense. He does not know the location of Changi Ferry Terminal vs Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. He says in Post #2 that he went to Batam from Changi Ferry Terminal. No such service has ever existed. And then he further insists in Post #5 that he is correct. Finally to show that he is totally confused and does not know that he is confused, in Post #7 he declares that you are confused (when actually HE is confused), by saying that you cannot go to Desaru from Changi Ferry Terminal (which you can, by taking a ferry to Tg Belungkor and then taking a taxi).

You should note that boats from Changi Point Ferry Terminal go to Tg Pengelih Jetty, in addition to Pulau Ubin of course. You can take a taxi to Desaru after that, but that is not what you want.

You are involved with a big group, so you should not be taking a small 12 seater from Changi Point Ferry Terminal.

You want to go to Tg Belungkor Ferry Terminal, thank you for finally saying so.

If you Google hard enough, you will find operators who book packages for hotels. They may or may not find it worthwhile to book ferry tickets just for your group, for the ferry only and without the hotel.

Since it is so important, is it not important enough to actually go to Changi Ferry Terminal and do your homework? Then you can do at least 2 things which you cannot find out online:

1. Ferry schedule, cost, size.

2. How many lots are in the public as well and private car parks, is it safe, how far to walk, how much it costs, etc etc.

It seems that there is no more ferry to Desaru from Tanah Merah, no such cruise when I checked the website.

Perhaps I need to make a trip down to Changi Ferry Terminal personally, as all the phone numbers that I managed to check online are not in service anymore.

Tks to all for your help

Honestly speaking I wont take the bum boat service over even its free. In raining conditions all boats wont move out. Even in perfect weather the seas can be choppy. Afterall its a small bumboat not a cruise liner.

Desaru is a place which should onky be car driven there.

I ever drove from desaru to tg bel ferry terminal before. Quite far from desaru. U have hit all the way south from desaru then all the way west. About 45 to 1hr safe normal driving speed.

Besides the new hwy makes the sin-des route very much shorter and faster. And the croc farm, firefly, ostrict, seafood doesnt make sense taking cab there.

Better stay in p ubin chalet better.....lollllll.
