Hey, by all means, get someone to pay you 10M to speak or write books etc. I dun care. The money does not come from public funds.

Do they seriously tink people will pay them millions to give speeches and write books?????

Obama press one button Singapore can be gone in a flash. They press one button and hey its probably the recess bell going off to wake up all those MPs sleeping whilst Parliament is in progress ...........................

There was a time when they stopped building 2 and 3 rm flats, saying that families are getting bigger, need at least 4 rm flat, hence concentrate on building so called bigger flats. Now, they start building 2 and 3 rm flats at newer estates to meet demand. Who dunno how to be minister like dat? Poor planning and no foresight. Just change decision can oready.

YOG budget, everyone knows the minister dunno how to count other people's money, only his own. And yet he gets to keep his job. Worth paying top dollar?

COE, end of last year, they came out of the closet to say they made a mistake in counting nbr of COEs released over past years, now have to cut supply and boomz goes COE prices. Qualified to be minister?

Something is clearly wrong with the PAP system when you have over 90% of the public who are against million dollar ministerial salaries, and the local Press, Judiciary, Executive and all the so called independent arms of government ignore public opinion and allow the ministers to continue to pay themselves such rediculous amounts.

This is because the corruption is now widespread and ingrained through out the system, and is a part of the system. This is a systemic failure. The only way to end this is for the masses to slowly realise that out of every dollar they earn, probably 50% comprise hidden taxes that go to support this corrupt system and indirectly pay for the rediculous salaries of the ministers.

i also agree with you on this... really wishy washy speech... i think their spin doctors are off on holiday...

Other ocuntry politician earn a lot thru lecture etc coz they got substance, they talk ppl willing to ppay them and listen and wanna learn more from them, over here, they know they cannot earn much by giving lecture (anyway who in this world wanna bother to read their bk and listen to their lecture?) hence muz up their own salary using public fund so that they can earn as much as other countries politician? What kind of logic is this.

The question to be ask, who will pay money to listen to any of the current MPs, except maybe LKY. I can think of......*wait for it*....None.

I think the "12" people u refer to may be one or two PAP moles with multiple user names.

I'm very curious to hear the 12 people's reason for thinking current minister pay package is "reasonable".

Actually , I think having high salaries does not encourage corruption.. hence. . both side gain..

something is really wrong if we need to pay a political leader a lot to stay corrupt free. anyway, i've heard quite a few different reasons from the govt over a period of time why they should be paid high salaries. Strangely, the reasons are always changing.
