But you need the spark plug tool, cost only about $12 i think. I know of some w/s charge $5 for changing spark plug, but that is some times back liao. Eventually, I send in for servicing with self-supplied parts (EO/oil+aircon filter/spark plugs), plus some minor fixing (window/brake), only paid $40 for overall labour. Donut Supercharged March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 go to this ws in the Caltex station, along upper thomson road, together with Shell and Mobil stations. Highly recommended by fellow MCFers...... their charges are reasonable. i bring own oil, cvt oil, spark plugs, and they charge $25 labour. my spark plugs are very hard to reach.. they are situated behind the engine block, not in front. So its damm difficult to take out and put in the sparks.

DIY or hardware shops selling spark plug spanner about $3.50 to 5/- 5/8" type, got another smaller spark plug spanner one for smaller spark plugs. Watch how others do it if no idea. Nemo6089 1st Gear March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 Spark plugs are best replace yourself, some workshop mechanic don't care a damn, just screw in your spark plug in an angle damaging the thread in the process. BTW, they are not that difficult to replace anyway, not like engine oil where you have to jack up the car to drain the used oil and then find a place to dispose away the unwanted oil. Yeobh 4th Gear March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 Some french cars engine spark plugs are really a pain in in the ass when you try to remove them. Unless you have the right socket ( usually very long and thin walled type) and T bar with uni-joint.
Elfenstar 3rd Gear March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 Bro, I was wondering if you have any recommendations for where I can get a good ratchet and socket set, spanner set, as well as screwdriver set. I'm happy to buy them piece by piece too, but min quality would be equivalent to snap-on's. All I seem to find are the cheap ones
Yeobh 4th Gear March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 Yes the Spore market for auto mechanic tools is flooded with cheap and "use once and throw away" DIY type tools. Just PM you link for local online purchase, hope this helps.

Actually have to torque it to the correct tightness too. But dont have the tool.
