Santafe 1st Gear March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 Hi folks, I start this thread to share with you the test I did on a SDHC Kingston SD Card, 16GB Class 4 Test finished without errors. You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again. Writing speed: 12.7 MByte/s Reading speed: 17.1 MByte/s H2testw v1.4 Below the results are done using a Transcend SDHC Class 10 16GB card. Test finished without errors. You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again. Writing speed: 12.5 MByte/s Reading speed: 20.3 MByte/s H2testw v1.4 As owners of in car camera owner, I believe you want to have a good writing speed SD card to record your HD or Full HD video. I owned both class 4 and class 10, in terms of writing speed is the MOST important factor to record HD videos and I don't think see significant increase in writing speed except for the READING SPEED. There again, is it really worth getting the fastest class 10 SD card where the performance of writing is almost on PAR with class 4??? Anyone can share their thoughts? ↡ Advertisement

Sky_vinz Clutched March 30, 2011 Share March 30, 2011 (edited) Ohlins: Roughly how much does it cost? If my in-car camera can support up to 32gb, is it really ok to stretch it up to 32gb? Or just 16gb? Will it be too much of a memory load? Edited March 30, 2011 by Sky_vinz

Please try to test Sandisk class 4 and share with us the result. Maybe it could achieve 15MBps as claimed. I find it is faster than Kingston class 4 in my D90. Elfenstar 3rd Gear March 30, 2011 Share March 30, 2011 Are you testing newly formatted cards? If no you might have to in order to get proper read-write speeds.
Santafe 1st Gear March 31, 2011 Author Share March 31, 2011 Yes, all cards are formatted before test. As the s/w will write on the card full memory to test out the speed.
