Park88 1st Gear March 28, 2011 Share March 28, 2011 if we have a PM who is suppose to be capable why in the world do you need a SM and MM who is paid just as much as the PM might as well keep MM as PM or SM as PM and do away with PM and either MM or SM dont understand the complexity of politics
Coupecabriolet Clutched March 28, 2011 Share March 28, 2011 even though a 14% cut (S$32million+/-) is not alot when used to deal with such a big disaster.. at least they did something decent. this is what is called walk the talk. our govt leh? in a recent discussion video i saw, one of the MP said instead of giving grants, assistance and help to people across the board, they prefer targeted assistance. opposition refuted by asking, how come the ministers get pay rise? do they need the assistance? (or something like that)

After all, didn't they already on their pension every month which is 2/3 of their last drawn pay (last I checked) already?

After all, didn't they already on their pension every month which is 2/3 of their last drawn pay (last I checked) already? bro, just look at their "bonus system" which is reflected by country's economy through GDP. 30 months bonus is a joke. it becomes even more disturbingly irritating when you realise their monthly pay is so high. efficiency wage model is a good way to attract, sustain and retain talents.. but how much is too much? they are the ones who make the rule, its difficult to refute im fine if people demand high pay if they can deliver the goods.. even if its opposition. but at the moment, our political system is a monopoly. no competition from opposition. what democracy or free market system we dare speak of? In the first place, for a healthy ruling environment, a opposition must be present.... In our garment system, anything raise by the 2 poor parties, it will just shoot down.... to be fair both the japanese gov and opposition MPs are truly useless and japan has a very long and well established history of corruption in high office (every year someone gets outed) the other fact is the pay cuts happen because they are 'expected' by the people. the MPs have no real choice. id take our gov lack of coruption with our gov competance anyday over the japanese gov who are not at all respected by anyone in japan and are usually puppets for businesses and yakuza. Follow already but only on pay structure...No need to get sack from wrong deeds? and still get 30 months bonus?
