Driving a 2007 kia rio sedan 1.4m

Same sound when braking early in the morning, change brake pump also the same. Just leave it alone.

Only complain on this car is the fc, mine is between 8.5 to 10 km/L 80% city start stop drive n a heavy driver plus weekend often full load.

Hey Tok

Ur FC for 80% city is considered v good liao wo

It's my FC for 80% highway!!!

But was 1.4A tho

Enjoy ur ride!!

I do enjoy my ride. Alternating between both light n heavy foot.

but I must say those few mods like risk n qfr does make this car much more responsive.

But I think u enjoy your romeo even more....looks like a red spider on the road, you know, those fightering spiders that exist during the kampong days....

Y u all so emphasis on chasing the fc...just enjoy ur ride...manage it well.

Its a never ending direction...so no point chasing it n lose the real meaning of owning a ride

Neutral Newbie

think its inherent in Kia Rio (owner here also) as i have the same issue but no probs as observed by mech previously, long hours, just maybe u want try step on the brake pedal for a while once engine started.

Yeap, did a check while doing oil servicing at Autobacs yesterday, nothing wrong so far. :D

I agree and if it's not showing consistency in dropping, just enjoy it!

To some, it may seems to be chasing FC.

To others, it could be experimenting the effects of driving style vs Petrol grade vs performance equipment vs additives......

And to some others, give them a super duper and it is still being driven at 60km/h.

it's always power vs FC... if u wan more power, u have to pay a little bit more for petrol..

some cars engined tuned toward better FC, while other for better performance... just 2 cent opinion

Twincharged

hi all,

between a 1.4 verna and 1.6 cerato (2006), which would u recommend?

thanks..

IMO the Cerato more spacious. If you need to ferry more people on a regular basis the cerato should be better. My relative has the Cerato while I have the Verna and I notice Verna shock absorbers seem to wear out very quickly if you regularly carry 3 people at the back

Wow... FC so good

I had owned a RIO 1.4M.

Pro:

1. Quite and smooth engine.

2. FC around 17km/l with 70% highway and 30% city.

3. Never had any problem. Change car to a Sienta due to family needs for 7 seater.

4. Low maintenance each time less than $100 doing it outside, cause C&C is very exp.

Cons:

1. Not as solid ride as my 1st ride SEAT IBIZA.

Car owned:

1st car - SEAT IBIZA (2nd Hand 3 to 6 yrs old) - Power steeling pump broke

2nd Car - Hyundai Accent 2001 (2nd Hand 3 to 6 yrs old) - Drive shaft need to chaneg soon.

3rd Car - KIA RIO 1.4M 2006 (Brand new) no problem at all.

4th Car - Toyota Sienta Sep 2008 (Brand new) no major problem.

BEST car to drive is SEAT IBIZA, most comfortable and quite car to drive is KIA RIO 1.4M.

hi all,

i am planning to get a 2nd hand car, 6-7yrs old RIO for my dad for his daily short distance deliveries and wkend outings.. contemplating between manual or auto.. the sales guy say manual is better cos less easy to spoil (esp. gearbox) etc.. is this true? also, is FC better for manual? how about costs of servicing and spare parts? my dad has a habit of braking too often.. he's currently driving a nissan double car (manual of cos..) and it feels jerky.. hahaha.

my other options are getz or aveo.. that is if these 2 fits his driving pattern better..

thanks in advance!!

Hi hi,

Just bought a 6.5 years Rio 1.4A HB.

Just wondering what I should change now since I'm the

The second owner? I recalled reading somewhere must change engine oil,

Coolant, timing belt and what else? How to tell if I need to change these oil incl. Power steering fluid and ATF fluid? If not dark black no need is it?

Which workshops are good with RIo? I'm staying Bishan area

But don't mind travelling to a good and trust worthy WS as I'm really

New to car ownership and maintenance. :)

Also, as I'll be sitting 4A and 1 big child or 5 A, do u think the 1.4A Rio

Can handle the full load?

Silly me just realised my big clan after I bought the car!!! :(
