Own a 06 Rio 1.6A HB.

4 years and 100000km later still going good.

Only once power steering failed.

FC about 11km/l

80% city 20% highway

CNG about 15km/kg

IMO as long as maintained well car can really last ^_^

I had a 1st hand 2009 1.4AT

Very reliable.

Nothing to change in my 3 yrs.

Battery die every 12 mths.

Aircon filter behind the glove compartment may be tricky to reach.

Even C n C broke my catch when cleaning.

So you may want to check that it's there.

Otherwise everything else is pretty standard ba

U may want to go sgkiaclub and ask?

Lotsa friendly and knowledgeable there

Thanks Bro, I did post at SKC but they are quite inactive. Anw, I'm quite confused with the filter stuff . Is the glove compartment at the engine area? Any photos of your engine area?

Aircon filter not air filter.

Since u talking about the latter, may want to get a hurricane SS or KNN.

Check if previous owner did any intake mods cos Rio generally underpowered so we have to up power.

Riosters are a shy bunch

Try PM-ing the mods for the make?

PM-ED ! Hehe, look forward to join man! Rio seems so nice to me, decent looking yet cheap and low-malfunction! Thats the reason I choose it over Getz or Picanto! [rifle]

Anw, I saw the filter, it is a carbon fibre one. I can't rmb 100% but it might be SS. Mm , will any bros free to join by turf city to help me have a check on the car? Lunch on me! [;)]

Hi all, I've just bought a used orange 2008 registered Rio 1.4AT from a direct seller. Noticed that the brakes have squeling sound everytime during the 1st move off after long hours of parking, after I braked a few more times while on my way out of car park, the sound disappears. Is that a sign of worn brake pads or shoes?

Since no one's replying and I think I've managed to find out it's my rear brake drums that could possibly worn off already, may I know if anyone had changed the rear brake drums before which I'd like to find out what's the average cost like? Thank you in advanced. :D

I bought a 6 year old Rio in Sep last year and immediately after buying it, sent it for servicing, changed all drive belts, water pump, checked brakes and all fluids etc. Since then, no trouble at all.

Should be less than $400 if you change the rear brake drums.

think its inherent in Kia Rio (owner here also) as i have the same issue but no probs as observed by mech previously, long hours, just maybe u want try step on the brake pedal for a while once engine started.

Driving a 2007 kia rio sedan 1.4m

Same sound when braking early in the morning, change brake pump also the same. Just leave it alone.

Only complain on this car is the fc, mine is between 8.5 to 10 km/L 80% city start stop drive n a heavy driver plus weekend often full load.
