Bro ya, water pump usually change with timing belt, later I go back find my receipt, really cannot remember Liao, lol

Ur ex ride is 1.4/1.6?

1.4AT

Same heavy body as 1.6 rt?

IIRC timing belt/ pump combo smelly smelly 800+ all in

Cos I always read and got scared

But never got the chance cos changed ride before it reached that stage

Now on timing chain

Which apparently is another can of worms altogether. Lol

Tyres matter a lot. I changed tyres on my ex-Verna to Michelin Energy and it was dead quiet.

Suspension geometry on this car sucks. There's no way around fixing it. Don't waste money on strut bars and aftermarket shocks and all that. They make the car worse because the front and rear aren't balanced to start with.

Yeah

I need to manually increase volume once up expressway one.

Then before exiting must quickly decrease

Or risk going deaf!! Lol

Had a front strut bar which I tot was pretty useful

Then again could be psychological also

Thanks All, OMG.. looks like changing Timing belt is more than the $200 bucks since there

are other stuff that will have to be taken into account...

Now I shall find a good Kia Rio WS then.. Per haps Lavender Esso as a bro here shared, and I also read in forums that

Harmony (a Little Pricey though I read), RDY are some others?

Does this mean that if I buy a second hand Kia Rio which have clocked more than 80,000km, the timing belt etc should have already been changed?

should but may not have been. If I were you, I'd change it anyway. Rio timing belt/water pump is not to expensive. I know that when I sold my old Trajet at the 82,000 km mark, I did not bother to change my timing belt.

Would I be able to fall back on the "lemon law" if should "shit" happens within 6 months?

not sure if "wear and tear" can be included in the lemon law claims.

May not be so. Some 2nd hand D like to adjust to about below the psychological 100k mileage because

1) Still 5 figure

2) Between 85-100k will give impression that the major servicing/replacement due at 80k has been done.

I believe u can, however, u likely still need to engage ur own council to fight for you.

In this case, think in terms of the $ & annual leave & mental stress involved.....

Some of these lich dealers are lich & can drag it out with u at the courts. See who can tahan longer......adjourn adjourn...each time pay & pay......burn leave....

Actually if the car just past 80k km, I think most likely never change. Cuz who will bother to spend more money on the car if they are intending to sell it soon?

Hi All,

My New baby - an used Rio 7 years old, has FC like 8.6-8.9km/L which I understand is really low...

understand that my city driving could have attributed to the lower FC but it seems really low considering that mine is just 1.4A?

I heard that some Fuel Injection thingy can help.. anyone tried? trying to find out more info as well...

Or is it just coz it's an Old Rio?

TIA!

Yes.. you r right.. some dealers have a lot of time to play such games.. not worth it... Should I just request for a complete change of timing belts etc?

i saw one with 100K of mileage.. but i have no idea if the change of belts have already been made... or just a lemon waiting for me to buy... or should I just buy and request for a change of everything?

A general rule of thumb upon purchase of a used car if there is no proper service record with the distributor, is to replace the water pump, timing belts and rubber hoses. Most, if not all mileage of used cars are rigged.
