HARDGAYHOOOO Neutral Newbie March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 What you say makes sense but ah brother, we are talking about challenging to a race.. Which is otherwise mostly limited by a car's performance, even so for straight line sprints. That's why we are severely limited by this. It's not like after trying 100 times of friendly sprint, your car will increase in BHP :p You will know when to change gear better, launch the car better etc.. But it doesn't make the car faster than what the factory made it out to be. And yes. Nowadays anyone can get behind a car and drive it reasonably well. Sports cars nowadays are v easy to drive. I'm up for the spirit of challenging, whether I'm the challenger or challenged. But for most of the latter, the other driver sees red. But at the end of the day, what you gain even if you win???? Official racers of top 3 placing are rewarded by price money, fame and a career. You guys???? Maybe a chance to spend a couple of nights at local hospitals which is of course not free or a expedition to the local court room ???? Not worth!!!! Waste fuel and it doesn't even mean you got good skills. What for race?

Architect Neutral Newbie March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 Hey dude, u had just confessed ur recklessness on the road! Where is our TP WRX officer??? Question is, was the wrx racing as well? Heard so many cases of people driving kia koup that say they smoke an evo....honda jazz smoking integra when in most if not call cases, the other driver merely did not even bother. Chemmie78 Clutched March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 Since the hatch version looks normal, why doesnt it suit someone in a management job? Must look beng then can? Or you refering more to executive image? yup, must portray the executive atas serious image....who will take you seriously if u go and pick up your clients in a wrx with a fuji exhaust??? Chemmie78 Clutched March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 Cos drivers of WRXs tend to give me the impression that they are bunch of hardcore racers lots of time with giangic exhaust pipes . Fact is , compare to performance cars 5 years in the past, you can own a decent WRX for as low as 70k as compare to others like evo , fairladies, integra, celica etc etc which usually over 100k or so. Therefore drivers of WRX gave ppl the impression that there are ppl who wanna to own a performance car on a lower budget (generally saying but not all) . At least it is a car of performance I have to agree. Unlike cars like tuscani,Kia coupe etc etc ....nice to look at that's all. yup but there is also an increasing group of customers who are not like that la...just wan a practical sports car

KARTer 2nd Gear March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 It's NOT what you drive, it's HOW you drive.. . I drive a WRX when I perform my TP (EPU)(VSC) duties on expressways. I have booked drivers for speeding, reckless and dangerous driving. I have also seen many accident cases during my tour of duties. PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY FOR YOUR LOVED ONES. Please, please book lorry drivers who speed and bikes who overtake in between lanes..... these are pests and endanger other road users.
Karnaugh Neutral Newbie March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4daAjys1ojo I'm sure it can hold it's ground....... And besides, taking a stock rex to compare with a top of the line type Rs already isn't a true comparison. The stock rex is basically a watered down version of the STI which requires some tweaks to its handling whereas the type Rs already come stock with race ready stiffening chassis and suspy. A better comparison would be a base rex with a 2.0 civic and the integra type s. And please don't talk about one is FI and the other is NA else there will never be an end. Frankly speaking none of the Type R you see in the video are representations of a modern Type R in terms of handling capabilities. New type Rs handle much better than their predecessors. If you put the latest FD2 Type R and the WRX 5 door hatch on Sepang the difference is obvious. You can ask those CTR/WRX owners that go to track with their stock cars. The comparison of Civic 2.0 and WRX is unjustified because the former is just a family saloon while the latter is classified as a performance car. If you want to compare then you have to compare the impreza 2.0r and the civic 2.0. Integra type S again is a coupe with little performance features. Its akin to the 2.0 Kia Koup we see now which is not a performance car as well. If you really want to compare a stock rex vs a Type R. http://www.fastestlaps.com/comparisons/hon...za_wrx_jdm.html The Wrx is an old Jdm rex but the handling and power characteristics of rex hasn't improve much even till now. There is no doubt that the current FD2R is tops in the handling. It is a track ready performance car with all the suspensions and chassis tuned for track. So if really want to compare, I think a base rex is not on the same platform as the FD2R as the FD2R is highest standard edition trim in the civic line whereas the base rex isn't the highest standard edition trim in the impreza line. Architect Neutral Newbie March 29, 2011 Share March 29, 2011 Wanna try to create a thread with the title "WRX is slow..." ? I am sure you can create, it's a free society. But unless you yourself are capable of being faster than some of the faster rexes around, I don't think you can lay claim that the wrx is slow. Bro I didn't really want to compare a rex and CTR. You did mentioned that a base rex can hold its own against a CTR hence leading to this discussion. I am sure many would agree that is not the case. Even for straight line power, a CTR will still win a stock WRX as the latter runs out of breath on the higher end.
