Aimnfire 4th Gear March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 imho those rich and status people, high chances they will vote for pap cause it seems their life is well protected for others will still vote for pap why because somehow or rather fear will strike our hearts if pap lose these people will be hit badly you dont believe it's fear? if not, there wont be such thread of what's going to happen if pap lose etc etc etc in the end these guys will vote for pap because they themselves create the fear for themselves

Aimnfire 4th Gear March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 I was attending a neighbour's late mom's funeral wake last night. As we were sitting down and chatting amongst the neighbours that attended, I got the distinct feeling that most of the neighbours above 50yrs are die-hard PAPa fans. They kept relating how singapore would not be what it is today without the PAP, and when election come, they will definately vote for PAPa. It's a good party. I am not sure what the demographics are, and whether a sampling of senior citizens from single block is representative of most of the senior citizen voters but I think whatever the case is, it's an uphill battle for chiam and sylvia to get a GRC foothold, even though all the Internets seem to be against the PAPaya. maybe you can tell these people you bleed and sweat so much for the country and the garmen when you are sick and needed hospital treatment see whether they will be compasionate about your medical bill or not

I'm 50, a few of my close friends are 50. We understood what PAP has done. But PAP policies today does not help the poor. It only help themselves, the rich and elites. Maybe we are a small exception to the demographics, but we will surely not vote for them, given the chance to vote.
Yahgo22 1st Gear March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 Let study a bit deeper about these 2 boleyland candidiates. 1) Both left Msia to study abroad because maybe the education system there is no good. 2) Both of them decided not to work in Msia because they feel that the economy and future there is also no good. 3)Both chose to work in S'pore beacuse they feel that S'pore is a better place to settle down (maybe at this moment) What if something happen here in Spore and if they are not elected as MP or be future Ministar (No more Iron Rice bowl) Can anyone guarantee that they wont go elsewhere? KARTer 2nd Gear March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 I see the new candidates credentials I really flipped. Elect as MP need PHD, Scholar, Top Gun private sector job ? For what ? So High up there their brains cannot understand the Heartland problems at meet the people sessions. Do you need a Solid Gold Tap for a HDB flat ? this really shows miw's selection method is 'world class'......... catering to the needs of elite, even my 10 years old nephew knows only people familiar (thru first hand experience) with life and plights of the masses can genuinely serve them........ elites will come up with stylo-milo powerpoint (figuratively speaking) to impress others and 'score points' for personal year end bonuses / increment..... Curahee 1st Gear March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 I chat with my malaysia relative regarding election recently. Last election in malaysia, opp win a lot of area including his area... I ask him why he vote the opp during the last malaysia election, his reason is simply becoz they muz let the opp have a chance to try out, nv let them try how u know they gd or not, if not gd den for the next election vote the other party lo. As compare to singaporean, we r not as risk taking as them, our mindset dun like change, dun like risk, here scare, there scare, everything also scare kind of mentality. Sgnick 1st Gear March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 This fumbling minister not shy. Still dare to talk big. Singapore Home > Breaking News > Singapore > Story Mar 24, 2011 DPM Wong Kan Seng fires salvo at the opposition DEPUTY Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng fired a salvo at opposition parties on Wednesday. He argued that the opposition was wanting to capture a GRC for the wrong reasons. 'Some say they are doing it for party renewal, some want to be the first ones to do so, but what is the election about? Is it about the ambitions of a political party or individuals to make history?' said Mr Wong, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security, and an MP in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC. He was referring to comments made by opposition leaders Low Thia Khiang of the Workers' Party and Chiam See Tong of the Singapore People's Party in recent weeks on their plans to possibly contest in a GRC. What IS the election about? Well said indeed. Is election about putting up a big wayang show followed by PAP retain absolute power for another 5 years? If so, then why bother to have election? Why bother to have opposition? Why have voters? Hell why even bother to have democracy? If WKS and his party have done such a swell job and the voters are happy with them, then why be concern about the motive of the oppositions?

Celicar Turbocharged March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 Like what I meantioned earlier, some of the ruling party does speak on these B&B issues but when it come to voting for any bills, it will always be ALL RULING PARTY MPs versus the two oppo (present) folks if the party whip is not lifted (when was the last time it was lifted? cannot recall) *sigh* If my memory serves me correct, whip was last lifted for the bill about organ donation/transplant, because it touches on religious beliefs. Celicar Turbocharged March 24, 2011 Share March 24, 2011 therein lies their stupidity. the past is no guarantee for future. from a 100 to few years ago, products pushed out by lehmann brothers were also great products. but after that, turn bad over 1 year? i don't think lehmann brothers turned bad over one year. it is mroe because people and authorities have turned a blind eye to their growing bad by assuming a good name in the past means they can do no wrong in the future. this is also the problem with our ruling party. yes, they have done fantastic in the past, but what they have done in recent decades are already deteriorating. I don't think it is about stupidity, it is about priorities. Different generations have different priorities. Putting aside PAP, we are where we are because of our parents' generation (and their priorities). ↡ Advertisement
