Hao80 Neutral Newbie March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 (edited) Forte may be stylish but not as fuel effcient than Vios. You should stay put with Vios since now petrol price so unstable. On the higher side of course. Edited March 16, 2011 by Hao80
Dragonl 1st Gear March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 Not worth the change. Admin fee + transfer fee + whatever u do on the new car not worth it. Fuel saving also gone to waste. U might as well wait out another year or so when ppl start to change car better. Then u will get the much newer technology inclusive fuel efficient one.... If I let car dealer handle, besides the increase in monthly installment, how much fees in total am I looking at other than making losses from selling your Vios to the dealer, you need to pay for the Forte's transfer of ownership. that's about the bigger $ to pay for. if you really like it and its within your budget, just buy. one more thing, Vios is in high demand. maybe you want to post in sgcarmart and sell your own to get a better selling price. Spurman Supercharged March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 Forte overall a better car than Vios.. 1) Bigger space 2) nicer looks exterior 3) a little more powerful compared to Vios 4) MIK 5) interior nicer However, 1) slightly more expensive Road tax 2) same or slightly worse FC as to Vios.. I guess Vios should be 13km/ltr, Forte 12km/ltr.. 3) Selling a car, admin fees, etc, depreciation, new loans, means new interest to pay off.

Eric211 Neutral Newbie March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 just last month happen, i have trade in my Oct06 vios for Nov09 Avante. Yes I get good price for my previous vios but I also pay high for the Avante. I'm ok with the CF (additional approx. $220/month Fuel + installment). I enjoy my ride everyday...but prepare to set aside another 40-50% of my installment, because it need to top-up when sell the car with low paper but high buying price (in the case of coe down to <20K in the future). Overall consider I down grade FC but up grade cabin drive feeling
Boyboy 1st Gear March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 (edited) forte is not a bad car but is certainly not "slightly worse" FC than vios. if one can get 12km/l on forte will be at least 14-15 on vios... but is much better handling car in terms of stability. so depends on what the individual wants. if mostly no rear passenger and no NSH run i will say stick w vios. forte is more of a cruiser+family car while vios is more of couple and city car. IMHO... another thing to consider is if the forte got the 5 year warranty from C n C. if have then is worth considering. esp with the windscreen cracking issue Edited March 16, 2011 by Boyboy

Heartbreakid 6th Gear March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 Well, Japanese makers supporter might not be happy to hear this, but done a comparison, I felt that Forte is overall a much better package car. The first thing Forte already have an edge over Vios is the engine noise insulation. After that, it is the size, the space and though some may say vios has better quality plastics but Forte has got soft touch plastics on dashboard and door armrest (but vios has none), performance wise, Forte is on par with Vios or maybe sightly better since it has the new 6 speed gearbox. Well, fuel consumption Forte will sure loose out to Vios, but what Forte has over Vios is solidity and stability at higher speed. If you are getting a new ride, I would suggest Forte. But since you already have a ride. If it doesn't give you any problems, why waste money for a change? But if you still want for a change, I strongly suggest you to do a test drive and read out about Forte in local forum and make the judgement yourself between Forte and Vios. Then you will know what is better.
