Do you know which company you from? Why not call them and ask? Alternatively, when your policy goes thru' the company will always send you a slip of documentation stating your insurance, type as well as the vehicle and person it's insured for. Go look at that and add 10% for next year coverage if no claims.

I've been driving my car for 6 years with no claim, means I have 50% NCD till now.

Lately I bought a motor insurance from AVIVA online, claiming 50% NCD.

Today I received a letter from AVIVA saying that I do not have this NCD, weird.

Now they want me to pay extra 50% of the insurance.

do you have your past insurance renewal, every year it's stated inside how much you have. go through it, if not check with your former company

check your name in aviva is correct, no typo error, sometime they don't even look at ic no, eg yam and yan is not the same. that why they say you don't have ncd.

Exactly same case as mine. What I did was to call my previous ins. co. to verify and confirm my NCD with my current ins. co. That settles it.

I'm sure your previous insurer offered you a renewal. Your NCD should be stated in the renewal offer letter. Let Aviva have a copy of that.... that's if you still have it.
