Buy at your own risk. Set expectations very low - maybe expect 1 breakdown per quarter. Then it may exceed your expectations.

But please don't take cars without VW warranty - DSG part change heard is a couple of k each time. Or make sure you cater 10k per year cost for repairs if out of warranty.

Take high loan very risky. Later when you sell, you sell backside also not enough. Must take out $$ to settle outstanding loan somemore.

Because people will lowball you with ridiculous offers because of the brand's reliability issues and how common this model already is on the roads as well as used car market.

Yes. but i am thinking of a car that can drive till end if it dont give me too much problem.

after hearing all the comments, my concern is if it really so problematic, then it might not match what i am looking.

if warranty can last me till mid 2018, i still have 2019 - 2021 to worry about before i can sell the car away.

sad that VW have such issue

Drive till the end with minimal problem? Your best bet is with pure Japanese made..

sounds like windows 95.

Hi Bro,

I had the same make with you. I don't know if this would help you.

The problem is that when you start your engine, try to wait wait for a few seconds before you shift. The software inside will lock your gear on 3rd if they sense something wrong. Sometimes when I am in a hurry, i would down shift too fast resulting in lock 3rd gear. All you need to do is either to shut down completely and restart or reset your ecu.

From experience, they cannot do much except to re-flash your trans.

I hope this is your solution.

Cheers
