ENGINE FLUSH... So is it good or bad?

maybe if got free flush sample or in a packets i might try it again... but wont purposely go and buy bah...

 

 

Especially FREE stuff can cause thousands of dollars in damage to your car. [bigcry]

somemore my EO change every 5k one... [:p]

 

If u use a decent quality EO n change every 5K km, I dont think u need a flush.

 

I use cheepo C@rlube synthetic EO(<$30 for 5 lit) n change every 10K km n still its very clean.

bro, dont ever use those engine flush... if you really want to try, get a bottle of kerosene... its cheaper and equally damaging to your engine... I ever used STP engine flush once on my elentra and next thing is.... oil leak.... told myself never gg to touch those quick flush chemical anymore...

 

if you want to play safe, shorten your OCI for a few rounds will help to helps to clean up your engine for sure, I have been practicing that for a long time... i perform a short OCI (less than 2000km) every 2 OIC (18k to 20k) using cheap oil... whenever i did that, i can see the engine oil turn brown slower on the next oil change. Its costly but its the safest way to clean your engine...

 

as for the MMO, after reading so much from bitog, i finally decided to try.... ive put it in on my ride at 164k km, has been put in my engine for around 2000km already. going to change it in another 3000km. So far so good. Im using redline 5w20 oil, with 30% MMO, i guess my oil is lesser then 0W15 now.... No visible leakage or oil consumption on my 166k vios till date. If the oil level can maintain at the same level and no sign of leak for another 3K, I believe it should be quite safe for most car that uses oil thicker than 0W30.

 

Let me know if you wanted to try, i can sell u a quart to test, since i bought the 1 gallon bottle.

think its marvel mytery oil.... its quite popular in US cause its 1 of the cheapest oil/ fuel additive but not here... can get it from esso for 8.80 a small bottle or $40/ gallon bottle. U may do a search from bitog, there are a lot of discussion over this product. so far, majority of the feedback is positive..

Wah...bro..you overdosed on MMO.

 

You should not go more than 20%.

MMO will thin out the oil as it is also partly solvent, although it's napthenic oil.

there was this ws that told me must flush before using motul EO. before going to them i just switch to motul even without flushing and had no problems.. dont know why he said must flush before using motul oil

After many years of driving, I can say that engine flushes are not necessary unless you have high carbon build-up in your engine and in need of an overhaul, then a flush could help prolong that engine overhaul.

Noraml price is abt $50/5lit but I only get when on offer at abt $28/5 lit.

 

If its too ex, I prefer to get Royal Purple or Mobil 1 if similar price.

Hi bros, go to youtube and search for title - vtec club oil change, see what Spoonsports Japanese technical adviser say about engine flush, i'm sure you guys will never do engine flush again. [;)]

ask yourself is flushing your ass with water is good or not? hehehehe

some say it is good as it flush out the "years" of impurities and some say they feel lighter after the flushing
