if let say i got into an accident which is my fault. a month later, i decided to sell my car as to buy a new one.

 

will i have a clean record since got new car?

 

how about the claims if i i decided to cancel the insurance since getting new car?

Your ins policy is in YOUR NAME not the car so the details wil follow u to whatever car u buy in future.

 

Even if u change ins co, the details wil attach to your new ins policy.

Even if you sell the car and cancel the insurance before the claim against your policy (since you say is your fault) is processed, you/your insurance company will still be liable for claims relating to that accident.

 

You are obliged to declare any past or still pending claims to your new potential insurer, so technically, you will not have a clean claims record.

insurance never follow the car... but the person.
