Probably its has already been secured by some shady 2nd-hand dealer, who will then perform the necessary repairs and post it on SGcarmart with their usual description of "owner's 2nd-car, seldom used, accident-free". [laugh]

Bros whom are looking for a 2nd-hand Type R for the next few weeks better avoid the following,

Reg 13-Aug-2009

COE $8,501

OMV $34,251

I get what you mean, bro. I would love to have a Type R at $55K to thrash around too...[laugh]

But the problem is the chances of auction cars ending up in dealers' hands are almost 99%. It is just a formality for the banks to post the cars on Sgcarmart.

Was interested in a car in an auction held by GE @ Turf City some time ago. As far as I am aware, you have to pay in full when dealing with auction vehicles. Once the vehicle is in your possession, you may then wish to explore the different options to convert it back into a loan.

I doubt any institution will loan you the money as there is no collateral involved in this process.

Auction works like any other auction. Highest bid amount wins by the stipulated time and date of the auction, subject to reserve price being met. You'd probably have to pay an initial registration fee (refundable if bid is unsuccesful, usually $2k or more depending on the bid amount). You have to settle the outstanding total of the final bid price with any other percentage add ons (buyer premium of ?% in addition to highest bid amount - check with auctioneer before committing) within 48 hours via TT or cash. Cheque payment is subject to clearance time.

Most importantly, you gotta know what you're buying + know the condition of the vehicle and expected repairs at the time of purchase. Quite risky if you don't know what you're doing. Hope it helps.
