Oh, since driving until now, only failed once at VICOM Kaki Bukit lor,  the chance of failing is so low lor.  That time they just started test steering side slip lor.

I drove to JB do alignment RM30 then come back and retest lor.

Ever since I go STA, never failed side slip lor and can go at 8pm to test, save time.

As for your question, do at those workshop ??

I think a bit conflict of interests for got screw by Vicom, just to be screw AGAIN by its tenants.

Over my dead body lor.  I will never go Vicom again lor.

Also they are like into doing VITAS for new car lor.

I think the price is the same ba.  Never much notice that usually 2 year thingy.

I like STA :

a) Sure Pass

b) Open at Night

c) Got lucky draw from time to time. Lucky spin or something.

d) Most importantly, you can ask for the test report

Previously, I go Vicom just to be piss off, I failed side slip test.  More than 2m slip per km.

I remember same day go to JB for wheel alignment just to discover there is nothing to align lor.  When back retest .... Passed wor.

A very subjective test, if they don't straighten my steering, of course fail one what.

I am sure done with Vicom lor......

The default standard for side slip test is 5m/ Km . For u yr result is still within the safe limit.

Side slip test is dynamic whereas wheel alignment setting and measurement is static. Yr wheel toe and camber setting might  be within spec but that does not necessary mean yr car will not move laterally either right or left.

The cause is due to the difference in lateral pulling  force between the front left and right wheels. Other possibilities maybe due to camber and toe angle settings, wheel bearing resistance to roll, different wear rate between the front right and left tyres.

i'm done with Vicom too. one joker there challenged me that my exhaust is not original and wanted to fail me. a friend also went to vicom recently and got hassled for a stock car.

have never been bothered at STA before,so its back to them.

+1

Went vicom last week and the bugger failed me for my led bulb for my fogs. Had to change them out on the spot and go another round then pass. My led bulbs were nothing new and have never had this issue for previous inspections.

Why must they insist on the original exhaust system - so long as the noise level ( when u floor the gas pedal ) and exhaust emission are within the set limits.

Vicom is like still stuck in the 80s.

Their system is still back dated. Slow slow slow in processing ANYTHING.

STA is very chop chop curry chop.

What are the test criteria for headlight test?

The screen showed headlight test failed.

But overall still alright and passed.

Car is very uncle, stock with 2 children seats and headlights definitely look and operate normally.

Is their test machine working or not? Sometimes I see that it is not working. It does not move to the level of the headlights.

They never replace the old equipment - just milking the cash cow.

not only they didnt replace the old equipment, they keep repeating the redundent  ( dun know how to spell) process which waste time and money .

worst thing is they even replace that machine with a new 1 ( at tuas there ) which give the same c--k result.
