Price for outback and FXT quite close,

FXT has more power thats why its selling better than outback.

But i do feel outback/legacy interior is better. (material quality, overall feel is more classy)

me booked last weekend , non guaranteed pkg $121 K,

most colors out of stock and saw a few families queuing to test the outback, think the value is good for the price.

but the only downside is the 2.5L engine relatively weak compared to FXT.

No choice wife love the space and ride comfort of the outback and also the much better interior quality (compared to FXT)

suddenly notice a spike in the no. of 2015 outbacks on the roads, my estate itself got 2 new ones within the last 2 months LOL..looks good? any bro bought so far? read somewhere tt FC is 13km/l ...if so it's really good for a 2.5NA with AWD [thumbsup]

Yup it's true.. Mine average 12km/l.

On another Subaru Forum, an Outback owner said in May 2015 that there were more than 20 Outbacks registered. With the latest cut in price, there are probably more Outback on road but I think its probably the 60 to 70 units range. Still a very low number compared to Forester, which has become quite a bread and butter car.

The higher road tax for Outback must have deterred many potential buyers. But in actual dollars, its about an additional $600 of road tax per year so its not so bad.

Both are really good cars, but I guess many just can't overlook the fact that you get so much more power for less money [:p]  [:p]  [;)]  [;)]

If you compared the FXT and Outback side by side, you might find that your sight line (ie, where you sit and what you see) isn't so different. The Outback is taller than it looks due to its proportions. But yes, it is hard to justify the extra spend when you get significantly more power with less road tax, and probably similar thirst.

What the market needs is an Outback with the FXT's motor.

I too noticed the spike. Backside getting itchy. Like the space size design and price. But some Singapore car parks will prove to be very unfriendly to this car's size

done a power to weight ratio of a car with 360nm/1646kg (0.218kg/nm)  and outback -235nm/1595kg (0.1473kg/nm)

does  it mean that outback has quicker pickup than the other car ?

Try Googling <2017 Subaru Outback 2.0 Turbo> and seems it will be introduced for China market. No other news if  it may be eventually introduced to other markets.

outback very good promo now.

price cheaper than forester XT and much higher OMV too.

quite good value for money.

why carpark unfriendly? the height is lower than forester. should be ok for most carpark?

What's the current Outback promo? Is it for limited choice of colours only and MI clearing existing stock?

As for car park unfriendly, I believe the forummer was referring to length of car and not height. At 4.9m long, its about a foot longer than FXT and this can translate to challenges in MSCP, especially those that are fairly narrow

After disc should be 121k , ive booked 1, like it more than FXT with just 1k difference then.

The outback power is relatively enough for me..for the SUV height, i wouldnt floor it if i chose FXT.
