Dexdj Neutral Newbie February 25, 2011 Share February 25, 2011 hi guys, had a bad experience for the first time in JB after going there for so many years. my car's front passenger window was smashed and my fishing gear was stolen in the middle of the night. my car doesn't have any window film/tint whatsoever and after this experience, i'd definitely like to invest in a good security/alarm system and perhaps a 'shatterproof' window tint too. i am seeking all forummers advice on the type of car security systems currently available in the market that can take full colour videos, produces sharp, piercing, sure-wake-the-neighbours-up kind of alarm and a device to alert me too when i'm away from the car. Also, are there any proven shatterproof window tints here locally? after this incident, although i will not stop going into malaysia, but i'd definitely would want protection for my car substantially increased.. help? thanks! Chucky2007 Turbocharged February 25, 2011 Share February 25, 2011 if solar film are stick on both side, in car cabin side & the outer glass, it should hold the shattered glass in 1 piece when its shattered, else no tint can hold. Think on the aspect of physics.

Dex Don't waste the money. I installed shatterproof windows tint before also kena smashed in JB, Tebrau City, Tesco. 2 layers somemore, one inner layer of anti-solar and the outer layer of shatterproof. Those demo video that you saw are those windows that they've wrapped around with the flim. What is useful is the shock sensors and GSM alert that I've installed. Upon impact, I was alerted. When I reached my car, it has already been smashed. Blamed myself for not reminding my kids not to put anything in the cabin. They left a plastic bag of 2 water bottles at the rear cabin. Smashed glass only mah, just learn from mistake loh...after that I still go in and out...then I just prefer to stay here most of the time. So now I'm very selective at the kind of lot and its location. I don't mind waiting for the right place to park. Having said that despite of the smash incident, I still visit Tebrau Tesco occasionally. Now I will only park at the second floor near to the entrance.
