Just saw an accident scene between a 7 series (latest model) and a civic (also latest model/ current model) along upper bukit timah road one of the T junction. Civic was on the road, bonnet bent, exhaust dropped, can't really see what's the damage on the left side coz apparently civic make right turn and 7 series chiong straight. Anyway the 7 series hit traffic light, meaning front wheel on top of kerb, windscreen cui, front of car cui, multiple airbags cui. Looks like the 7 series speedster sia in order to incur more damage than a civic.

Wah this one I think 7 series avoid civic than hit both civic and traffic light. I think the 7 series driver will sue the civic driver until pants drop.

Hopefully no one injured. These days the drivers are all crazy.... I just kenna from a lady driver of Tiguan. Cannot even have enough clearance to have proper view on the road and yet tail gate cars.... if front ebrake, I sure this one also cui. [grin]

Maybe the airbags already deployed but you didn't see them because they were already deflated? I wonder if Thai-made Vios is as strong as the US-bound Yaris/Vios.

boh leh... the steering wheel intact.... no air bag seen anywhere.

If I am the owner, I sure sue Toyota. <_<

Of course 4/5 stars wins. Simple maths.

Regards,

Based on NCAP rating alone, 4/5 star win.

But i was thinking: Isn't there a chance that the 1-star SUV, being much higher, may just run over the 4-star sedan crushing it below during a head-to-head collision?

I may be wrong, but I don't think a 5-star sedan is the same as a 5-star SUV.

Twincharged

Of course 4/5 stars wins. Simple maths.

Regards,

I think it depends on how they crash. Saw a documentary on discovery channel that SUVs the metal bar behind the bumper to absorb the impact is higher than normal sedans so when they crash the sedan's bumper doesn't work like it should as it will just go under the SUV and does not help to absorb the energy. Cuz all the tests only test the cars hitting a barrier.
