Nah, I have a habit of quoting just to know the context [laugh] . What you posted is pretty true BUT I think the "routine" Singaporean style you mention is either for those who haven't really stayed overseas or just happy with their robotic routine.

To add to this, I had a lunch chat with my US boss about whether if she's looking at staying in Singapore long term since her kids are here plus her career. She tells me how good Singapore is and stuff BUT she ain't staying because at the end of the day, it's EXPENSIVE to stay here for good.

Ironic isn't it? :D

thats what they will always say! at least she can go back! our home is for 99 yrs, cpf we dont even know whether we will be able to taste it and the routine will be our chidren's to follow. just hope that they can get off this rock should they want to! [smallcry]

dats a courteous way of putting it. in other words, singapore is not value for $. in USA she can go hiking, boating, travel, fishing, live in luxurious houses, enjoy fresh food at fraction of price paid in singapore

(edited)

that's pretty standard la.

that's why asia trips like hk/taiwan/beijing/shanghai/korea/japan and nz/aus is FULL all year round especially during holiday period

not to mention, each time there is 3 days like fri+sat+sun or sat+sun+mon, msia hotels are FULL

actually i'm ok with it. routine lifestyle with occasionally shopping+dining and go tour 2-3 times a year

but to a normal singaporan like me-life is going to work, lunch, work go back home, repeat cycle for 5 days, weekend watch tv and go out with the wify and the children. is there really another life out there! [lipsrsealed]

does paying the Employer of CPF have any impact on the taxes?

if yes, how much?

What do you think?

I would rather pay more tax from the marginal increase in profit through the saving of manpower cost (in this case, employer CPF contribution) than paying the employer CPF to the worker....moral issue aside, this is about profit maximisation.
