Thing is though torque peak for GDI version is higher, 167nm at 4850rpm compared to 156nm at 4200rpm for MPI version.

The article mentioned that Veloster in Singapore will be using the GDi engine. Only the test drive unit is not.

oic ... any idea when GDI test drive unit will come?

guess it will not be much difference?

I remember few years ago, mitsubishi had problems with GDI engines here coz of the local fuel quality ... any idea if this will be same?

This UK reviewer highlighted similar points as well.

It is very subjective, it depends which car you are comparing to, Scirocco or Jazz.

I find the power for such a small car is adequate.

You have to be fair on comparation.

Scirocco is using a turbo engine, even the 1.4TSI has about 240NM of torque. While the current Veloster is only using the GDI NA engine.

We need to compare it with the 16L turbo engine for Veloster which will release end of the year.

Saw the red demo unit parked outside komocco this afternoon.

Red outline along rims looks a little cheesy though.

Both FC and performance of Veloster should be slightly better coz it is using GDi and Dual Clutch gearbox compared to MPI and conventional AT found in Elantra.
