Torque6 Neutral Newbie February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 (edited) with the hike on tyres, don't feel like changing them as my tyre depth still around 5mm. Any recommendations? I thinking of going SHH at woodlands or any tyre shop near riverview WS. My passenger rear side seems to goes flat in 3 weeks, so have to pump every week. My tyre sizes are 225/45/17 and 245/40/17. Silver_blade Turbocharged February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 You can go to any reputable tyre shop to have it patched. But more importantly....is the damage repairable? Better to let the tyre shop have a look.

Torque6 Neutral Newbie February 22, 2011 Author Share February 22, 2011 yup, bought at stamford tires at AMK ind PK2. will go back to them. By the way, do i need to bring my receipt? Or they would be able to check on their end?

Beng2 5th Gear February 26, 2011 Share February 26, 2011 I did my internal patch at one of the shops in Sungei Kadut. $10 nia, including balancing. TS must ask properly because not all shops offer internal patch (although it does not look too technical to do, but more work to be done - take out tyre from rim, sandpaper the internal, apply sealant and let it dry, patch it, fix back tyre, balancing). Torque6 Neutral Newbie February 27, 2011 Author Share February 27, 2011 (edited) I managed to patched them at LS yesterday. Mechanic quite pro. They found 2 3 inch screws in my tyres..... So had to do 3 patches. Total price was around $40. Is it expensive? I thought patching is standard everywhere, $10 per sesson. Karebu 1st Gear February 27, 2011 Share February 27, 2011 sidetrack a bit. what does the 'flat tyre' option on air pumps do? i pressed it for fun and air keeps gushing out when it was not even connected to a nozzle.
Karu 6th Gear March 9, 2011 Share March 9, 2011 Does it mean that those external repair using 'fillers pushed in & pulled out' method is not reliable? Mine was done that way. Wonder if I should get it repaired internally or change the tyre...

Wonder if I should get it repaired internally or change the tyre... MHO those filler push and pull out is NOT relaible Reason : They cant inspect your tyre internally for any hiddened or internal injury. Sometime(sometime not surely) this push and pull method could enlarged the nail hole(make it bigger) thus the hole is torn and the whole tyre is not so safe to use. So in order to make sure the punctured tyre is safe to put back re-used is Internal patche.
Breadandwater April 2, 2011 Share April 2, 2011 plug and patch is the best method but most don't do it that way. Patch is better than plug but plug prevents water from making the metal rusty.

If you are kidding with us. This is ticklish. Any hike is insignificant to someone using those type of tire. If no puncture found on tyre, it could be a defective inflation valve If you got that tyre from places like Stamford, they used to repair puncture for free, if the its the tire they carry. ↡ Advertisement
