with the hike on tyres, don't feel like changing them as my tyre depth still around 5mm. Any recommendations? I thinking of going SHH at woodlands or any tyre shop near riverview WS.

My passenger rear side seems to goes flat in 3 weeks, so have to pump every week.

My tyre sizes are

225/45/17 and 245/40/17.

most tyre shop do tyre reapair with outside method (generally called i temperary way repair by car owner)

best is ask your shop to carry out the inside method of repaired which assure you of the tyre is safe to put back on the road used ( only inside method repair has the access to examine the tyre internal condition)(in some cases tyre is demaged or injured internally after punctured)

So do make your choice of repair method wisely

I did my internal patch at one of the shops in Sungei Kadut. $10 nia, including balancing.

TS must ask properly because not all shops offer internal patch (although it does not look too technical to do, but more work to be done - take out tyre from rim, sandpaper the internal, apply sealant and let it dry, patch it, fix back tyre, balancing).

i think there are some shops that take short cut when doing patching work. suggest you go to reputable ones such as stamford tyres

Did you ask for the internal patch, or did you just "my tyre puncture liao", Mechanic said, "OK".

I managed to patched them at LS yesterday. Mechanic quite pro. They found 2 3 inch screws in my tyres.....

So had to do 3 patches. Total price was around $40. Is it expensive? I thought patching is standard everywhere, $10 per sesson.

sidetrack a bit. what does the 'flat tyre' option on air pumps do? i pressed it for fun and air keeps gushing out when it was not even connected to a nozzle.

Does it mean that those external repair using 'fillers pushed in & pulled out' method is not reliable? Mine was done that way. Wonder if I should get it repaired internally or change the tyre...

MHO those filler push and pull out is NOT relaible

Reason :

They cant inspect your tyre internally for any hiddened or internal injury.

Sometime(sometime not surely) this push and pull method could enlarged the nail hole(make it bigger)

thus the hole is torn and the whole tyre is not so safe to use.

So in order to make sure the punctured tyre is safe to put back re-used is Internal patche.

If you are kidding with us. This is ticklish. Any hike is insignificant to someone using those type of tire.

If no puncture found on tyre, it could be a defective inflation valve

If you got that tyre from places like Stamford, they used to repair puncture for free, if the its the tire they carry.
