KoseiWish 1st Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 This morning along Haig Road beside Tanjong Katong Primary.. Normal for slow traffic everywhere in SG ..parents /guardians sending kids to school..but my son school they allow cars to go in for drop off in order to stop holding traffic outside..understandable tht sometime ppl lazy to drive in... I was driving out and enter the 2 way single lane road...long queues of cars and vans and slow moving with almost bumpers to bumpers.. Suddenly this Civic in front of me stopped and then 'ON his left signal' ... cant see what happening in the car really..holding up the stretched of road.. Horn him and passed my headlights..still did not move..tried to filter out slowly when no oncoming traffic.. Suddenly his kids came out of the car..when to his side and told him next time put on hazard lights earlier and not his left side signal ON..so ppl can react earlier to filter.. I think its normal for us remind others on this... My main highlights is that how he reply me... grinned face and say' WHY U FOLLOW SO NEAR' u know 'I WANT TO STOP'... Shocked to hear his reply as he didnt hear ppl friendly advice during long queues but comment sacasticly... I want to learn to read ppl minds please help.. [sweatdrop] Typical or minority... ↡ Advertisement

Whathefish 5th Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 Some parents..think their kids are the most important beings on earth...for that they dun care of others.. I have parents hogging the lane ..come out of the Farking car kiss and hug the kids (both at least 10yrs or more) and pass them the school bags...while many of us waiting for him to move away.... my point is...cant u just let the kids off and drive off asap...the farking road dun belong to u
Kiadaw 6th Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 Singaporeans kids are being too pampered at times. Near my house also got lane chock when school knock off. As many pearents park their cars outside the 2 lanes road just outside. Never mind that there is a big open carpark (with alot of space), just 100 metres away. Why can't they park at the carpark, came out of it, & walk to the school gates to take their kids out. Walk to the carpark, then drives off. Instead of choke the traffic. No wonder now so many of the youngsters think they are princes & princess.

Your account is a little unclear. Did he stop *first* or put on his signal first? If he put on his signal first, even a second or two before he stopped, then it's acceptable. Signalling to the slow side of the road (left in Sg's case) is a perfectly accepted convention to signify a car is slowing down and possibly coming to a stop. Once the vehicle has come a complete stop, hazard light are appropriate. Or just switch the darn thing off if it's in a proper lot. And he's right, you shouldn't have been driving so close to him in the first place. If you had no space to overtake him safely, that's really your own doing. Heartbreakid 6th Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 In short, ugly parents will show an example to the kids and will therefore upbring the uglier next generations... Not in terms of looks but in terms of the way they behave. With such people in our environment, it is no wonder, people are becoming more selfish and lack of common senses... Not necessary hazard light to stop. Actually signal left also can. You will see cars sometimes signalling left indicating to the car behind I will keep left you can take the right. Mugenr 2nd Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 u shld try the transport centre at Barker Road... every morning when I drop by dotter there I will sure be cursing at some idiot who double park with their ass sticking out onto the main lane, or as a bro said hug kiss along the main driveway, there are so many vertical lots but no one bothers to park their cars in there coz they either are damn bad at reversing into a lot when the driveway is narrow or they dun wanna get stuck in there while waiting for their turn to exit the lot.... its just part and parcel of sending your kids to school, my dad experienced the same 15 yrs ago, its still the same 15 yrs on and most likely when im sending my grand children to school

TMCTR Neutral Newbie February 26, 2011 Share February 26, 2011 im 15 and my school allows parents to drive-in and drop me off and the designated point.. Even if my dad stops at the side of the road(sometimes real congested inside the school), i just comeout, take my bag from the rear seat, say a quick "Bye-Bye" and leave. ↡ Advertisement
