What happened to the Mitsubishi showroom at Alexandra?

Went to the Kia showroom to see the launch of the OptimaK5 where it was a very busy day for the Kia sales people and noticed that the Mitsubishi showroom was deserted and there were a few Kia cars in the Mitsubishi showroom. How can that be? What is happening??!!

Mitsubishi was at one time my favourite brand but I felt sad that things aren't looking good for them.

Thanks for the info. I was rushing off so I didn't notice the change of signage.

I used to love Mitsubishi cars like the many generations of Galant, Sigma, 3000GT/GTO, FTO with their V6 engines and great styling. We owned 2 generations of Galant and loved them. My neighbour had the Sigma 3.0V6 and I ogled at it whenever I passed by his house. Never liked the Evo cos its 100% performance and nothing else but that's their idea of a desirable car now and they are paying the price for it. Their newest model was the Lancer EX and that was it, nothing else after that whereas their next door Korean neighbour has been launching new models non-stop.

I hope Mitsubishi will one day return to their former glory and come out with desirable cars like before.

i will think that their EVO is the more family comfort of around the same price range jipun performance. so cannot say 100% performance nia.

its a family performacne.

The high Japanese yen and high COE makes Japanese car not so competitive. More so when the Euro dollar is getting lower. So the price gap between Japanese car and European car is very close.

From the sales by MAKE in Jan 2011, the Japs with the exception of TOTOYA are in deep sh_t. The high yen and the weakening of the US$ and Euro$ has pushed their price very close to the price of the conti. People would prefer to buy conti if the difference is not that much compared to the Jap.

From the lower end, the Koreans are getting better and better .... look at the new model being launched KIA K5, new Avante etc. They look good and they are gaining ground on the Jap. MAzda only sold 10 units in Jan 2010. I do wonder how are the lesser Jap brand going to survive in this market. I spoke to the SE at Kah, she told me business is really "bad".

The quality of Mitsubishi cars are seriously low standard. Design also quite bad. The reason why Lancers are best sellers some years back was it was quite affordable & sporty looking (for its time). But while others have improve, their styling & interiors have not improve by much. Their design are dated, even before rolling out.

They are stuggling internationally, not just in Sunny Singapore.

I own a Mitsubishi, but the quality left a lot to be desired, even for the lastest models. The evo models does lift the reputation for the automaker, epecially how well it recieved by the top gear crews, but its not their B&B cars, & the interior still low rent compare to some cars half the price.

The future of Mitsubishi doesn't look bright. Lets hope they buck up fast.

Mitsubishi really once quite a popular brand. Their Lancer is quite popular among many car buyers. But i find the design of their car didn't improve quite a lot, the interior design more or less like the same over so many yrs! [rolleyes]

maybe ADs have to cut costs further. they should not pay their SEs too much for a start

I thought these people are on comission based scheme? Usually the basic is already very low.

I guess now it is the period to see who has the staying power.
