Octopus 3rd Gear February 18, 2011 Share February 18, 2011 examples? Example 1: Cruising at 5th gear....someone E-brake, I too...traffic speed up again, drop 3rd gear (skip gear) to catch up. Example 2: Cruising at 5th gear, approaching a bend...tap brake to slow down....apex of bend, drop 3rd gear (skip gear) to accelerate off. Example 3: Cruising at 5th gear, saw traffic light turning red from far....drop neutral and cruise....traffic light turn green again as I almost reach, drop 2nd or 3rd gear (skip gear) to accelerate

Octopus 3rd Gear February 18, 2011 Share February 18, 2011 more often 5-3 or 4-2. seldom skip while accelerating Unless cruising at expressway you saw a chio bu went pass and you want to catch up, then drop a gear to get more torque. Or you see a opening at the faster lane and want to squeeze in, then drop a gear would help you pick up to their speed faster.
Octopus 3rd Gear February 18, 2011 Share February 18, 2011 do u take on a corner without dropping gear? Yes, if no hurry then enter the bend at optimium speed and gear, and light press on the accelerator all the way out of the bend. Usually this way is faster to clear the bend, smoother too.
