Jman888 Moderator February 13, 2011 Share February 13, 2011 The bookstore open its first outlet in Singapore in 1997 and a movie "You've got mail" was shown in 1998 with a story of the mega bookstore chain that 'wipe' out smaller bookstores which was facing in most part of the world..... the point was i fell in love with Meg Ryan after that movie (remind me again in Sleepless in Seattle).... Quote Wall Street Journal: Borders to file for bankruptcy next week Published: Sunday, February 13, 2011, 12:30 AM The long-rumored bankruptcy of Borders is about to happen, according to the Wall Street Journal. Citing unnamed sources, the newspaper says the filing could come as early Monday or Tuesday. The newspaper also said in its story Friday that Borders Group Inc. plans to close hundreds of stores and eliminate thousands of jobs. Icedbs Turbocharged February 14, 2011 Share February 14, 2011 Think Amazon.com dominated everything on books. It's hard for Borders to compete with them. Even myself doesn't buy book from Borders anymore. Either buy from Amazon as hardcopies (USD is low now), or as Kindle Books through the the Kindle apps in Ipad. So borders is a thing of the past. More for people to browse. ↡ Advertisement
