Hi, was thinking of getting a cordless handheld vaccum cleaner for my home... Saw 2 models from Bosch (BBMOVE2) & Electrolux (Ergorapido).

I had checked & tested the weight, mobility & suction power.. they are pretty descent.. But not sure how is cordless vaccum cleaner in terms of the battery lifespan, battery holding life, durability etc...

If anyone has or is using it, please do share with me... Need your review.. Thanks alot!!

Supercharged

what i know is battery holding power is not great.... only 15-20 mins max.

and using over a period of time, the holding power will get shorter and shorter... that's the end of your battery life. And u want to get a new battery, u will realise the new battery will cost you more than the machine itself...... then in the end, u will throw away the entire machine.

one time, i also searching for this kind of vaccum cleaner, but the disadvantages put me off.

Thks bro.. ya u r right... the running time for the vaccum cleaner is about 15mins... think shld be enough for a 4-5rm flat..

Ur concern is what I worry too.. Scare the battery lifespan will get shorter and shorter fast... but wonder how fast will that be.. and I doubt how long it will last..

But the pro is, its really convenient to use as compare to those canister vaccum cleaner...

Thks bro...

maybe u can look at the philip 16v model?

I compared bosch,

philip & electrolux. Bosch only have 14v n smaller. Electrolux 14v n 16v, philip 14v n 16v. The bigger the voltage, the more powerful is the suction n also use longer duration. Electrolux 16v cloase to $300, philip 16v around $200.

In terms of:

design: electrolux nicer

bulk: electrolux slightly smaller

battery indicator: electrolux have, philip dont.

Weight: electrolux lighter, but its like maybe 2kg vs 2.5kg

run time: philips longer

can the device stand by itself?: only philip can stand upright, the rest have to lean on wall or put in charging cradle then can.

Roller parts can be dismentled for easy maintence? Philip can take out the roller brush easily, the rest can't

battery full auto carger cutoff function: philip have, not sure of he rest

price: philip cheaper for the 16v category.

Warranty: philips 3 yr, the rest 1 year

i m using the philip 16v n using it like a broom at home.. Never use traditional broom eversince i bought the vacum cleaner,

occassionally use those "magic mop" thing for hard to reach like below beds or below cupboards. So it is mostly in the cradle like a broom, so i just push it front n back, so the weight factor is almost negligable.

I use to vacum the floor of bedrooms, kitchen, living, dining n balcony which is 1700sqft, n also vacum my car.. 1 charge more than sufficient.

So i think the philip one would definitely do the job, dun have to get the more expensive electrolux, n forget abt the smaller bosch

Thanks for your detailed explanation...

Electrolux I viewed from their web is ard 12 - 18v..

How long u use ur philip? wat model u using? is it FC6161?

Most importantly, has the battery deteriote? i.e. cannot hold charging power?

Cz I chance upon some foreign site, some user commented that for Electrolux (forgot which model), after 6-mths battery cannot hold charging power, and can only use for few mins...

yap using this philips model 16.8v. used for 2 months, so far so good. this model has a auto-off for charging, so should protect the battery. but i am usually cautious not to over use the batt, so the vacum cleaner is not left in the charging craddle 24 hours. so usually all my appliances batt life can last quite long

Anyone got any experience with Electrolux Service??

My cordless vacuum still under warranty for 2 years, less than 6 months kaput

Went down to the Fusionopolis service centre today and they said they will need at least 3-4 weeks?? I asked the counter girl, Really??? It takes so long, she said they will try to do it in 2 weeks, ..... i was thinking to myself - really?? WTF???

Hmm.... got me thinking....... are they outsourcing it or what?? to some other country?? like malaysia ??

Anyone sent any appliances for repair at Electrolux so far???

Some years back had a problem with my Philips oven under warranty ; Brought it over to them- they just replaced the whole set on the spot; I guess cheaper to replace than repair; Now this is what I liked

Repaired a vacuum cleaner recently there - too a few days, not weeks.  It is a long way from the car park, compared to Kracher's service counter.  For this reason I will avoid buying this brand in future.

Yes you are correct, lugging the odd shaped vacuum cleaner (as there are 2 different components)  up from car park to lobby and then again got East/West entrance is really tough; Prefer those type of old industrial estates type of buildings where its easier to navigate; By far Panasonic and Philips has been very pleasant for me and free parking some more

It took me 2 hours to just get on the phone to make an appointment to get Electrolux's contact person to come to my place to repair my washing machine (under warranty). :a-fun:
