Ben5266 Supercharged February 9, 2011 Share February 9, 2011 Pardon my ignorance first time being a father soon. If rear facing put at rear sit or front sit also can? How to tie the seat belt or no need to secure the baby seats Avoid baby seat in Front seat. different model different way. Best one is ISOfit. But the car must also support that. Most conti car has ISOfit. If no isofit, then have to use seatbelt. Usually, the seatbelt will need to extend to it's max. So if your car is a small car, suggest to test it before buy. Just in case the seat belt is no long enough to go round the baby seat. Most 1.5L above sedan should be fine. Only booster seat that we don't need to tie down. ↡ Advertisement

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear February 9, 2011 Share February 9, 2011 Correct. An airbag is designed to fully inflate in a very short span of time, thus requiring a huge force (a small explosion, basically). While the adult skull may be able to take this impact, a child's certainly won't. It will be damaged badly. I had the passenger airbag of my Focus deactivated, despite the cost and hassle. It would be really ironic to be injured by a safety device... 100% agree. Especially for those who wear glasses/contact lenses. Could be blinded permanently instead by the air bag inflation rate and force. Not sure for those using hearing aids/heart pacer/fragile health/built. Badder Neutral Newbie February 17, 2011 Share February 17, 2011 To me it's most difficult to point out which is most suitable or most "safe" way to do it. actually theres plenty of research done on this. its well validated and proven. everytime i see someone with a child unrestrained in their car i see it as proof that natural selection is still at work..... Badder Neutral Newbie February 17, 2011 Share February 17, 2011 (edited) When it comes to car safety it is subjective. no its not Theres plenty of research out there - http://www.nhtsa.gov/Safety/CPS try here for some quick Q/A http://www.car-safety.org/faq.html For the best possible protection, keep infants in the back seat and in rear-facing child seats for as long as possible - up to the height or weight limit of the particular seat. When children outgrow their rear-facing seats, they should ride in forward-facing child seats (in the back seat) until they reach the upper weight or height limit of the particular seat. Once children outgrow their forward-facing seats, they should ride in booster seats (in the back seat) until the vehicle seat belts fit properly. When children outgrow their booster seats, they can use the adult seat belt in the back seat if it properly fits (lap belt lays across the upper thighs and the shoulder belt fits across the chest). SimonTan 2nd Gear June 27, 2011 Share June 27, 2011 It does not matter. Rear facing? If kena banged from the back by a careless bus the weak neck will get wiplashed. It depends on what kind of accident you think you will likely face while carrying a young baby. Best is to carry them in a heavy luxury conti car, rather than a tin can car!! Where can i buy a RF carseat in singapore? All i could find is until a limit of 13kg. anyone please advise me where i have not checked out yet and anyone using RF carseat for above 2 yo? Coltplussport Turbocharged December 10, 2011 Share December 10, 2011 Why would you need a RF car seat for a 3 yr old that look like a 4 r old??? If you drive safely, then the chance of front collision is lower than a rear collision. So at 2, RF seat is not important at all. But a accidental front collision is definitely a lot more damaging than a rear collision.
