Stonesix 1st Gear February 7, 2011 Share February 7, 2011 This seem to be a bit of weird size, not many choices to choose from... Have 2 model in mind, Michelin PS3 (too bad this size not available) so the next is RE001, anyone tried RE001 in this weird size? ↡ Advertisement
SimonTan 2nd Gear February 7, 2011 Share February 7, 2011 I think this is a good size. I might want to change my Jazz tire to this size when my current original tyre wears out. My Jazz tyre is 175/65/R15. So 195/60/R15 is just a little bigger, which is not an issue. Do keep me updated on your new tyre review when you have run-in your new tyres. Taz 1st Gear February 7, 2011 Share February 7, 2011 (edited) That's a good size. My stock is those odd size. 185/60/15. Just changed to XM1 (195/60/15) recently. A bit noisy after 1.5k run-in, but value for money. PS3 is at least $30 more ex per tyre. Hmm... btw, you need to identify your needs. RE001 is for performance and PS3 seems to be more inclined to comfort. Edited February 7, 2011 by Taz
BoneStock 5th Gear February 7, 2011 Share February 7, 2011 This seem to be a bit of weird size, not many choices to choose from... Have 2 model in mind, Michelin PS3 (too bad this size not available) so the next is RE001, anyone tried RE001 in this weird size? I am using this size, no problem buying tyres so the size should not be weird. Was on Hankook V8RS and currently on their K415. Both are very good tyres. The former is VR rated and the latter HR rated. If you are looking for better performance tyres eg VR and above I agree that this tyre size has very limited choices....if not there are plenty. RE001 is for performance and PS3 seems to be more inclined to comfort. My first priority was PS3 but foudn out that it does not have my tyre size. And during CNY, a frend told me that his last sets of RE001 serve him 60000KM, even though its a bit pricier but value for money and the feeling is WOW especially during cornering, steering responce wonderful. Not problem going puddle of water, totally no feeling of aqua-planing. His ride Vios. And he said noise is bearable. His current sets of tyre is PS3, and he still think RE001 perform better. Arjohn Neutral Newbie November 9, 2012 Share November 9, 2012 195/60/15 1st set = yokohama DNA noisy after 10k, good grip wet and dry. change after 20km > very very noisy. 2nd set = Hankook K415, done 60km still got at least 30% left. but decide to change as tyre become harden after 3.5yrs > very noisy, loss grip currenlty = Kumho Ku37, done 5km, comfort and grip comparable with K415 but $20 cheaper per pcs. ↡ Advertisement
