Branteo Clutched February 16, 2011 Share February 16, 2011 NUS PhD student spared jail term By Leong Wee Keat | Posted: 01 February 2011 1836 hrs 32-year-old Mohamed Feroz Mohammed Omar had been fined S$4,000 in a District Court for punching another motorist, Charles Wong Kia Choon, three times in the face on 29 November 2008. That being said, ... a S$4K fine constitutes a criminal conviction, and is likely to have future repercussions in his career. That being said, I still support a mandatory jail sentence (can be from 1-day to couple of weeks jail term) for road rage offences.
Branteo Clutched February 16, 2011 Share February 16, 2011 Another one...uni undergrad model driving without licence, beat red light and caught for asking someone to stand in for her...ESCAPE JAIL TERM AGAIN!!!! I feel that the DPP ought to appeal for, at the minimum, a jail term. 1) Driving without licence, 2) without consent of the car's owner, 3) beat a red light, ... 4) conspired with one to abet, 5) another to take the rap for her. While the latter 2 folks received jail terms for their crimes, .... she, apparently, got away with mere fines. I'm curious, ... to whom can one seek a detailed explanation with regards to this obvious disparity in sentences melted.

But then again, 3 shown that not only she didn't have a proper licence, but also driving dangerously without the needed qualification, offense on top of offence. Amazing she only get a 2k fine. Uniquely Singapore.
