Kelpie 2nd Gear January 31, 2011 Share January 31, 2011 Hi Bro, Just wondering how many KM we should change our auto gearbox oil. And how much is it.? I once read a Japanese Motor tuning magazine that mentioned the gearbox oil should be changed together when doing engine oil change. I can't remember the rationale as I probably don't quite understand . I change it every 20K. Some of the Bros here, did it like every 10K. Mcf777 Turbocharged January 31, 2011 Share January 31, 2011 change gearbox oil every 10K KM, that's crazy. Most of the gearbox oil should last at least 60-70K. I changed every 30-35K or yearly. Lucky, Type IV oil is cheap. Less than S$100 including labour.

Timex1441 1st Gear February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 gearbox oil = transmission fluid, right? the transmission fluid doesn't need to be changed as often as engine oil....juz need to check whether need to top up a bit from time to time.... car manufacturer typically will recommend flushing (ie replacing) the transmission fluid at 60K-80K km, i think....check the owner's manual
Kangadrool Supersonic February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 If ATF needs to be top up, something fishy liao. Better check!
Acewin 4th Gear February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 I remember they need some kind of manual winding pump to siphon out the transmission oil unlike our engine can flow out due to gravity cause for transmission oil the opening is somewhere higher. Cant remember cause when I in WS saw a latio changing and I kaypoh just ask.
Vinceng Turbocharged April 27, 2017 Share April 27, 2017 Auto gearbox oil is to be changed at every 40,000km servicing interval. If you are feeling rich, then change at every 30,000km interval.
Qaz20 3rd Gear April 29, 2017 Share April 29, 2017 Not a matter of rich or not. I change every 20k for all my cars, since it's not ex compared to A fail transmission. Always keep it in good condition at a small cost.. ↡ Advertisement
