I didn't watch thru the entire video. However, I do not feel its anything special for any engine to last that distance under those conditions.

This is because 2 things that determine engine life is lubrication and RPM.

Proper engine maintenance and lubrication is what allows the engine to last and minimise wear. I wonder how often they change the engine oil..... After every test? Or only after evert 10-20K miles?

I wonder whats the RPM they operate at. Redline the engine 100% of the time. 100% throttle does not mean redline RPM.

Wear is cause by metal-metal contact. As long as you can prevent that, your wear will be very little and lubrication system is very important. Of course cooling is important as well.

Waer and tear is during start-up due to lack of oil...and the temperature differential of the various pictons/cylinders.

When you reach a steady state and Ensure the engine oil are changed and top up, engines can run very well, unless there is manufacturing defects.

Usually car owners' engine oil last for a year, it will lose it's protective power very quickly.

But in a simulation test, where the oil are usually fresh, it will protect the engine 100%.

If you simulate hot cold hot cold engine start, and rev up a cold engine immediately.... don't think it will last that long.

Not forgetting If any time during the test period, should the car had some problems, it would have effectively means the test if over...and it will never be reported.

Any taxi drivers here? How often did your taxi need to change gaskets or piston rings? I should think it's almost never, and still these taxi runs 24/7 for seven years straight!!
