sure only buy pirated games ....... [sly]

sure got some 3r VCD ..................[:p][:p]

That time where got VCD??? VHS was the in-thing then. That time only thing was strip poker/mahjong/jackpot/watever casino game.

I always try to search the internal files to find the image rather than play the whole game waiting for the pixelated image of the naked gal. [laugh]

Basement 1. Super popular with schools in the North zone.

Also, blue film came in video tapes. one film, all share. whole class watch until nuah. everyone knows the same story.

Question: Why do illegal video tape runners bother to wrap the tapes in newspaper when everyone obviously knows what it is? That is like the worst camoflage of the decade.

Not forgetting the titles they have will be slotted into the letter box.

Still remember whenever my classmates got the list, they would bring it to school the next day and look for buyers. An order of 5 tapes is required for them to deliver.

1984..... I was on a wearing running around in some god forsaken jungle!

In 1984, I noticed Fann Wong was a little taller than most girls in sec 1, but a little flat too...and still is. [:p]

Didnt went to any arcade in the 80's. I went to the nearest provision shop, behind the shop was two arcade machine. Spent lots of 20cents to play that aeroplane game. When I got my first PC in the 90's, a 486DX2, this was the first few games I bought and played till I won w/o spending too much 20cents. Cos I bought the pirated game at Katong. [laugh]

i had used the zone phone. You can purchase the base unit seperately and it can double up as a cordless phone at home. Too bad my set was traded in to get the Nokia Liberty hp when the service was discontinued. It's a poor man's hp at that time. And still got to pay a radio license fee to own it. Later model came with a built in pager.

it seems that when we start thinking of yesterdays

we are truly getting old

maybe we should start a poll and see if most of us prefer the living environment of yester years or now.

For me, yester years are more fun and the games or hobbies we had are no longer the interests of kids now.

486DX2 is mid 90's liao wor

in 1991, my dad bought a whomping Intel 386DX 33Mhz PC for a whooping 3k!! That time it was top of the line as most of my mates are still using 286 PCs.

My 386 comes with 4MB ram and a 85MB harddisk!! Can install tonnes of games. That is before CD-ROM drives are invented.

During those times some newer games have extra features if you make use of "EMM386" expanded memory from the RAM on-top of the 640kb base memory.

eg. Wing Commander cockpit view, the stick steer according to your controls!

Later on, people started talking about "Sound Blaster" and every games supports soundblaster!! I saved up my $$ to upgrade my PC with a "Sound Blaster" soundcard...WOOT! It's after awhile that I realise "Sound blaster" was from Singapore and made a name for itself! being a SGean I was SO proud of it then!

Those times, PCs are so simple yet so complex at that time.

And school tuckshops were allowed to sell candy then...hahah

There were also "tikum" wafers when you buy to get either cards or numbers for prizes...

Also took my first double-decker bus ride in the 80s...went on a joyride on it with my dad and brother - just took it from AMK Ave 1 to Toa Payoh terminal and back to AMK Ave 1 [laugh]

They also started OMO in the 80s for buses - everyone had to carry loose change around - no more conductors there to change our notes :o

shops were selling pirated games so openly.... in an album on their shelves [laugh] but that was late 80s to 90s i tink?

Albums?? I think that is late 90s liao wor when CD-ROMs are available.

in the late 80s, game shops openly sell pirated games and the games are openly displayed!! diskette with color manuals in shears!! That was the time where the game manual are some interesting to read. Some manuals are better than the game! Nowadays who reads manuals, they are either B/W or in softcopy PDFs and has little content
