5zal1980 Neutral Newbie August 29, 2016 Share August 29, 2016 You book after the MAS thing and BM is still selling $102,988 then? I think you make a very smart move for the G package. I was totally caught out as this is really unexpected. what is the color of your ride. For me I really feel it is more worth to buy the std and do the upgrade yourself as there is more choices and you can pay for better quality products. I think with the $6,000 difference you can do up a lot of stuff unless you are those who don't want to spend too much time and hassle looking and hunting around. For me it is quite fun to do this improvement bit by bit. I had also dekit my ICE system from the previous ride, I had Audison amp, DA spk, Gensis sub and Eclipse HU but I might sell all this away as I find the stock sys is quite decent for stock and the best part is there is additional tweeter on top of the dash which bring the whole sound field higher against those with speaker only on the lower door panel. Only bad is dont know can install reverse camera a not. So you are not too concern about the warranty and it is grey area about what can and cannot be done. Do share with us your upgrade. Btw how is your FC, also your previous ride and its FC because this is a good gauge about individual driving pattern and route. Thanks. I booked 1 week before the Mas and my coe was secured before that so my 1st bid was successful at 49k. I had to wait for my car almost 2mths. I chose silver. My previous wish was a 2.0 10km/l so cant compare with this. Right now im getting 12km/l with short trips. Its true i enjoyed the hassle too doing bit by bit. The 6k upgrade is bulls**t. I awaiting to install 360 cam instead.of the reverse cam. You still can install rev cam at any audio or car workshops. Did some upgrades myself.https://carousell.com/toyotawishparts I booked 1 week before the Mas and my coe was secured before that so my 1st bid was successful at 49k. Sunnyday76 1st Gear August 29, 2016 Share August 29, 2016 Hello all, just an update. Went BM yesterday to ask about Wish. SE quoted me that I need to top up $5k from NG to G, but she said BM will subsidise $1k i.e. I still have to top up $4k (can't remember this $1k subsidy is part of BM promo or on the condition that I trade in my existing car with them). Just want to ask brothers here: Is it reasonable for me to try my luck in asking SE to half the top up amount if I trade in my existing car to them i.e. I just top up $2k/2.5k for the G package instead? Does this sound ok or am I pushing my luck too much? Thanks in advance for the advice and God bless!

Basically you can't get anymore discount above whatever they are offering. You need to topup 4k for g.coe and it's halved at 2k if you are doing a trade in with them. If your trade in car is just paper value then it's best to take up this deal otherwise you can or might get a better value for your trade in car elsewhere. ISZT 2nd Gear August 30, 2016 Share August 30, 2016 Hello all, just an update. Went BM yesterday to ask about Wish. Does this sound ok or am I pushing my luck too much? Thanks in advance for the advice and God bless! For my case when I book in May opted for the NG package, was offer $4000 more to upgrade G package and $2000 if trade in car. They are giving only paper value for my 9.5 yrs car. The SE was frank to let me know that selling at these price BM were projecting a lower COE pricing in the coming months and he also discourage me from the G package as he says BM "usually" delivers BUT only God knows. In the end did not manage to get COE for the next few bid as COE prices surge due to MAS policy, was ask to top up during the second last bidding for the same $4000 (heng ah they did not up this) to G package but no option for trade in car with $2000 top up anymore. I guess BM is quite fixed on the pricing policy as it seems non negotiable or maybe my nego skill is not that good. No harm pushing your luck to ask again, after all the money is yours and before you sign up you have the upper hand. In the end I sold off my old car to a scrap car dealer and at the same time collected my WISH at West Coast Ferry Rd. Got $300 + the paper value back in full cash. ISZT 2nd Gear August 30, 2016 Share August 30, 2016 I bought my Wish Std at $106,988 including top up for COE. Here are the facts & figures of which some are based on my assumption only as below, PARF at 10 year is $9,977 OMV ----------------------$19,955 (I think it is the same for both Std & Elegance model) ARF -----------------------$19,955 Excise Duty --------------$3,991 GST -----------------------$1,676 COE -----------------------$57,508 Cost =====================$103,085 Reg. fee ------------------$140 Road Tax -----------------$488 No. plate ------------------$30 IU --------------------------$200 Cost =====================$858 (not sure this had already been included in the OMV?) Accessories added on ======~$700 (HU, front DVR & reverse sensor) {As for Elegance model it maybe another 4 to 5K more} Grand total ================$104,643 So dealer margin is $106,988 - $104,643 = $2,345, so on paper it look like a super value buy. (But I don’t quite believe BM would make so less, any thing I miss out hur???) Ya, I have a loan and the total interest is $4,760 and the Insurance at $1,3xx through them. BTW seriously, I had contributed $19,955 + $3,991 + $1,676 + $57,508 = $83,130 to our Nation building fund while buying this new car.
Sunnyday76 1st Gear August 30, 2016 Share August 30, 2016 Dungdn, thanks for sharing the Toyota Club link. 5zal and ISZT, thanks much for the detailed info! Yah, my existing ride is also 9.5 years and my SE also taking it at paper value + few hundreds more. Bit insulted because I just changed a pair of new tyres and also some repairs amounting to a thousand during my regular servicing 2 months ago. Yup, SE informed me that OMV for standard and elegance is the same. If want to know how much dealer is earning as profit, check out this LTA website which I learnt from other brothers in this forum https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/car_cost.html (select pdf or xls at the bottom of the screen) Based on Jul data, for every Wish BM sells, they profit 18k. Just how much SE earns from this 18 I don't know - maybe 10% of 18k for each Wish? Sorry another noob question. When I do sign on the dot, can I ask the SE to write somewhere in the contract and sign his/her initials for: 1) The car which is to be delivered to me is of YOM 2016, and not YOM 2015 2) That there will be no paperwork fee from BM for the downpayment of 20k (which I intend to use credit card so that can earn credit card points mah haha) in the event of refunding my 20k due to unable to secure the COE for me after 3 months if I choose the NG package Reason for the phobia is of some bad experiences I heard from friends especially when dealing with PIs, promise verbally one thing, deliver another thing if deliver at all. So everything in black and white safest.

This is y I opted for the g.coe package with trade in car though the se pushed for Ng package. I was lucky to secure in 1st bid. Bm very strict with regards to discount and I am very sure about this because when I bought my Altis in 2005 I recommended 3 cf, buyers they didn't get anything more than what I got neither did I get anything too for referral. So everything in black and white safest. Your SE offer few hundreds more over the paper and I thought that is very good already, I was offer paper value only. Haha I even skip the last servicing for my last car and it is still running strong till scrap except that it ride like a boat as I didnt change the absorber but no choice had to change the A/C compressor 5 months ago. The LTA website shows the selling price of about $120k that is why the $18k profit, also never state which model as you know there is a $6k difference between the model. For me I will ask and confirm everything (it is alright to be 'Lor Saw') to be stated in the contract just before the SE start writing it and sign only when I am satisfied. Don't worry about the stock, it should be fresh off the production line, I see some bar code checklist slips in japanese inside my car dated 29 & 30 June, but ya hor ........................ it never state the year leh? The Goodyear tyres shows "2316" = week 23 year 2016. Not sure about the refund policy and procedure as never experience before. My though is if you are going to trade in old car with a reasonable offer and the top up is $2k to G package it is worth. For my case need to top up $4k as initially didnt took the trade in offer or you may take a gamble and hope for the best but well no one knows. There is a physical key hiding inside the remote, just pull the key out by pushing on the release button and you can open the door manually. Was infomed came from diff manufacturing plant in Japan Toyota. Is there any specs diff? You can go Sgcarmart to select the BM and PI Wish and do a comparison. The visible differences are fog lights, buttons to control HU on the steering wheel, RIMS and the logo on the engine hood.
