There's apparently 2 [!] Eco Mode On/Off settings - One is a hard button located near the center console [right of the main air-controls], while the other [green leaf icon] can be toggle On/Off by using the 'little long black stick' located behind the steering wheel, on the front dashboard [where the RPM, fuel level etc are].

 

So my questions are,

 

[1] Why are there 2 'Eco Mode] settings? What does each do? or are they the same?

 

[2] Does a lighted 'Eco Mode' on the dashboard means it's turned On or Off ?

Eco Mode On/Off hard button near the center console - Press this button to activate eco mode. This makes the car sluggish. Only recommended in jams or when idling.

 

Green leaf icon toggle On/Off - This is a display toggle. When its on, it shows you when you are driving economically. For instance, you can see the green leaf when you are cruising or accelerating gently. But when you floor the pedal, the green leaf icon disappears indicating you are not driving economically.

Hi, Joyrob, I got my Wish (standard) 1.2yrs ago, at that time the diff between Standard and Elegance was 6k, good choice for you to choose the standard model as you can do so much more outside.

hi all..  running in the engine now..  just got it a few days ago.

Can check how was the FC for the first few rides ?   I top up to half tank but i realise it only manages 200+ km before it nears to empty

Hi congratulation on your new ride.

 

Mine is 14 months old and during my first tank of petrol I got ~13km/l but than I was driving very gentle. Till now my avg is >13km/, the best I got per tank is 14.4 and the worst is 11.9 base on the on board meter reading. Btw I am driving with the Eco mode off.

 

During my time I got the Std model and did my 3M Crystalline solar film and full leather seat outside for a total of ~$2500.

 

How much did you pay for your Wish std and your COE is?

Wah Bro, how you manage to get so good FC, my friend manage to get only 10.7km/l and i know his driving is slower n safer than mine. Mine just hit 2500km, FC hitting 10.0 flat. Manual calculation also reads the same. Can explain the eco mode u were saying. Eco mode is auto am i right and will detect when you drive economically. I need to learn this. Ive yet to reach E indicator light, my trip is 460km from full tank to almost quarter left.

hi ISZT, i pay $49189 for the COE, and about 108K for standard model with 3M crystalline.

Look like my deal last year is almost the same as yours, $103k for standard model + $4k for COE topup so total also $107k without any add on. But I got a higher COE of $57508.

 

Enjoy your ride, the FC will improve as the engine runs in.

Hi, the Eco mode I am saying is the hard button switch beside the hazard light switch and above the gear shift stick.

 

So when it is activated the word "Eco mode" word will appear in the dashboard just above our orange data display window and it will be running in an economy programme but I find that everything from acceleration to the aircon seems to be retarded. Never use it after a few try and I feel it don't really save fuel even if I off it.

 

I think you mention the "ECO" indicator which appear in a lighted small green box inside the tachometer this is just a indication on how hard you are stepping on the accelerator. This indicator will goes off when the rpm is more then 2000+.

 

Maybe it is your driving pattern which determine the FC, for me it is 50/50 expressway to city driving but most of the time only me and my wife is in the car and once in a while uses the second row and for the third row uses a few times only. Also I drive smoothly but not slowly nor aggressively. Usually by the time I refuel it is after the E indicator lighted and the needle drop to E level and my range is +/- 650km and pump in around 50L.

 

I had recorded all my FC and for the 24,000km till date my actual manual calculated average is 12.8km/l and the onboard meter always gave a slightly better reading of up to 0.5km/l. If i am driving in 100% city traffic and my FC is definitely below 10km/l. Btw my previous ride a manual Lancer I am also averaging 13km/l for the 10 years while driving it.

depends a lot on ur driving style & road condition.. if u have heavy feet, it will be around 10km/L on 50/50 highway/city, peak/offpeak. If u're very careful with ur feet, can go up to 14km/L

I've got the same deal as you. After 3 failed bids BM asked me to top up 4K, same COE as you and reg'd in Aug 2016. Wonder those who did not top up got their COE or not?

No ideal and I was wondering also? But BM would need to sell the car without profit to me if no top up.

 

Anyway I think even with top up we got quite a good deal, at least with a higher COE paper value.

Congrats! At your purchase price and high COE cost, Borneo Motors' profit margin for your new Wish seems to be very Low, possibly only ~$5K for the Elegance model. BM is very aggressive to secure your COE at the 1st bid. You got a good deal for your new car! Enjoy your new ride!

 

The other Bros who got their rides at $107K (after top up) for the Standard model also had excellent $ deals as BM's profit margin possibly only ~$4K.

Congrats Bro for the good deal man! $107k for Elegance Model is cheaper to what i get for $113k. $6k difference can do so much outside and alot to save. FC for mine seems to be only at 10km/l. Not so awesome. Never reach above 10 yet. 3months driving. But i dont use much of the car so i save on petrol usage topping up abt 2.5 times per month in JB.

Smart move for you guys to buy with gtd COE, btw how much more for gtd?

 

Your deal are even be better than my last year std model for $106988 (after COE topup) with $57508 COE, because the elegance model should cost $6000 more to buy.

 

BTW recently when I visit Toyota jp website the Wish is no more listed, so likely Japan already stop selling and I read from the Straits Times BM would bring in the Prius Plus to replace the Wish next year.
