I weight them. As i said, SD weight about 15kg for 1 box 40pcs.

The foam can ignore cause its so light, 1 foam 100gm perhaps.

I have used about 45pcs SD and 10 foam for the entire floor, no adverse effect for the added 17kg.

Maybe I should take out the spare tire, that thing weight about 20kg

Will replace it with a tire repair kit and pump instead.

but that 15kg is just for the boot right? U are going to do your whole car? entire project is going to add 80kgs?

roof is last option, now my next target is firewall area which is the hardest part.

need more study about my car first before doing it

It is tiring, 2nd phase for the front i take about 6hrs, most of the time is spent on slowly dismantling the seat, carpet etc.

If there is another person to help, it will definitely help to speed up alot.

By the way, i uploaded my DIY pictures to here my DIY Sound proofing

I find that the front SP is very poor and the engine sound come from there, the firewall area.

But I dare not dismantle the front to DIY the SP. Maybe next time after doing some research.

Now can only hear engine sound and front wheel which travel through the firewall from the front.

Firewall SP is a must!!

bro, that is exactly what i have been experiencing for the last 2-3 years, once i hit rough surface asphalt road equivalent with tarmac (usually highway of CTE, PIE, and travel beyond 60km/h, the tire noise turns unbearable.... luckily i do not hear the engine noise.... may be my firewall is a bit better...

its not a bit better. some people have a higher tolerance towards noise level

have just finish wheel arc soundproofing.

have added the SD only and will add the foam in the future so i can hear the differences with and without foam (10mm thick)

DIYWheelArcSoundProofing

this method will surely be better than spraying 3M coating spray as the sound deadener is 2.2mm thick

I used about 3 pieces of SD for each wheel

Why not take out the banana skill and put the SD inside?? Wouldn't it be exposed to the environment this way and it will just degrade and drop off suddenly when you drive and worst, if its stuck when its drops, I don't know what will happen.

others have done it before and it is confirm ok, and the best part is their country is with winter.

the SD do not absorb water and is made of a kind of rubber, once u stick it there and press onto the surface, it is almost impossible to take off, at most the surface is dirty

Wanted to take off the other parts and put SD inside, but I forgot to bring tools...lol

today tried 80km+ on the highway with rough road, the wheel noise is reduced a lot, now it is mostly the engine noise.

Think need to do the firewall area to reduce those noise.

Btw, before i do the wheel arc, didnt noticed rattle sound on the firewall area when travel high speed on rough road because the wheel noise

now that the wheel noise is reduced a lot, can heard that the front does have some rattle noise

well, firewall SP DIY next
