Does you ever keep the packaging for the items you have brought? for example a television, computer, headset, handphone or even a mouse and a keyboard?

I used to keep a lot of packaging however after time i realise there is not much point in keeping and sooner later most of them will be thrown away.

Unless u plan to resell the item in a short time, it does not serve any purpose to keep the boxes.

Today, when i open up my storeroom, i found lots of packaging for my dvd player, teleision and even computer mouse..i thought it was too messy and wanted to throw it away. but my mom insisted that they can be used for other things like storing items, however those packaging had been kept for years and its piling up. not sure whether to throw them away or keep them. not for a matter of resale

but kind of a habit

it gets very handy when u wanna, for eg shift house

cos the boxes will be a perfect match for your item, eg: DVD player

used to have SEGA box, super nintendo box

(throw away liao... cos wife think's i am Karanguni man)

No for PC peripherals but yes for some of my collectibles. Without the packaging, it is easy for them to get damaged if I put them into storage.

No one is a Lego collector here?

The lego parts takes up 25%~35% of the actual box and balance is air space.

After removing the parts, we collectors keep the box in the original shape and not flatten the box.

If that you have the chance to visit any collectors' home, you will understand how messy their place can be.

Me is Lego collector. I don't keep the box unless it is for a "power" set like the death star.

I usually keep my undisplayed sets broken down and in ziploc bags

Then I also have a lot of plastic ikea bins for keeping loose lego bricks by colour

hp, camera, watches, ps3 boxes i keep... coz i always leave the warranty card and instructions manual in them.. easier for me to look through..

shoe boxes i keep too.. for keeping nitty gritty items..

Nice to have a former collector in MCF...

Maybe I am a reseller and that is why I need those boxes for better resale value.

I used to be like you but had all the useless packaging discarded recently.. Need to start spring cleaning early this year.

CNY is well on its way!
