Sorry to hear about your case. Maybe you can sell it to TS owners. I think a lot of them want to have a WRX spoiler attached to their boot which they would pay for the labour. On another hand you may need to check how it is being installed. You may end up with 4 holes which you either need to cover them with screws or a troublesome putty and paint job.

Hey bro, no worries. U are right.

If i take it out, i will end up with 4 holes and need to cover with screws or a putty and paint job.

It's freaking troublesome to take out, so i just leave it......

Hi,

I'm interested in installing a spoiler that was meant for a different car make. I've actually 'test-fitted' with the actual spoiler so can confirm that it does not sit squarely (ie, it's not resting 'flat' on the boot) and have gaps of about 3mm at certain points of each foot of the spoiler.

The workshop that is selling that spoiler says will need to fill the gaps with silicon.

Anyone with experience in installing such 'incopmatible' spoilers? Can share your thoughts and experience?

You may be aware that LTA never reject such installations even if they prove to be dangerous

It's called spoiler for a reason..

spoils the look of the car. [:(]

Don't do it.. unless you want others to laugh at you. Fitting another make's oem spoiler on your car is a no-no.

+1. It display the driving skill of the driver, too. Can be cheaper to attend refresher driving lessons instead

Bro, cannot liddat say.....

My used car (mazda) came with a pre-installed wrx spoiler.

It's very ugly actually and i wanted to take it out.

But damn troublesome to take out + must spend $$, so just leave it.

The point is, not all spoilers/accessories are installed by existing owner, but left behind by previous owner....

+1. My previous Myvi came with spoiler, making me embarassed each time I look at it (I felt incompetent driving car with spoiler).

Don't waste time on spoiler unless you are driving a performance car. Save up the money.

Remember a car means a car.

Supercharged

Many ppl know it when u try to fit this spoiler. And they will laugh at you for fitting another car's spoiler.

It's a unspoken rule in the world of car zhng.

I have seen altis fit with the WRX fin spoiler. I nearly got into accident coz my toes couldn't stop laughing. Can u imagine how ugly the altis is?

And u need to put silicon. This is not a good idea. Don't let the WS smoke you. Like what other bros said, once the siliocon breaks (which confirm will happen one day), rain seep into your boot and rust will come out. You confirm wont everyday go check the silicon, right?

If u want to make Yr car look better, upgrade Yr rims, suspensions, brakes. It will give you a better driving experience than a spoiler.

Want to fit spoiler, fit with the original one or customized one. Of not, don't fit at all.
