Scoots 3rd Gear December 27, 2010 Share December 27, 2010 Hi, I'm interested in installing a spoiler that was meant for a different car make. I've actually 'test-fitted' with the actual spoiler so can confirm that it does not sit squarely (ie, it's not resting 'flat' on the boot) and have gaps of about 3mm at certain points of each foot of the spoiler. The workshop that is selling that spoiler says will need to fill the gaps with silicon. Anyone with experience in installing such 'incopmatible' spoilers? Can share your thoughts and experience? ↡ Advertisement

Yc86 Clutched December 27, 2010 Share December 27, 2010 It's called spoiler for a reason.. spoils the look of the car. Don't do it.. unless you want others to laugh at you. Fitting another make's oem spoiler on your car is a no-no.
Ichibawa 5th Gear December 27, 2010 Share December 27, 2010 Wanna make your car look more garang but can only fart when other jio you for a run. Save your buck for a better car dude.
Lanevomax 1st Gear December 27, 2010 Share December 27, 2010 correct me if i am wrong , spolier are mean for performance car to press down(surpress) the back of the car (Aerodynamic flow) when travel at very high speed like above 120km/hr above etc. so unless you are going for track at malaysia then install ,otherwise no use at singapore roads unless you want to spend some dermit points. Bro, cannot liddat say..... My used car (mazda) came with a pre-installed wrx spoiler. It's very ugly actually and i wanted to take it out. But damn troublesome to take out + must spend $$, so just leave it. The point is, not all spoilers/accessories are installed by existing owner, but left behind by previous owner.... Scoots 3rd Gear December 27, 2010 Author Share December 27, 2010 To all who who offered their advice and opinion: Thanks. Ichibawa: I never stated my car was a performance car nor was the spoiler for 'garang-ness'. You, on the other hand, have showcased how childish you are Forrestcat: Any sealing with silicon on your spoiler?

IMO, the look has to be complete ... do you have a body kit installed for your car ? Otherwise, will the spoiler spoil the look of the car ? Have your upgraded your rims yet ? I would think the first thing to do is to upgrade the rims .... I have seen some cars with full kit including spoiler but on original 15 inch rims A few of my friends driving the REX have remove their spoiler ... Sorry to hear about your case. Maybe you can sell it to TS owners. I think a lot of them want to have a WRX spoiler attached to their boot which they would pay for the labour. On another hand you may need to check how it is being installed. You may end up with 4 holes which you either need to cover them with screws or a troublesome putty and paint job. ↡ Advertisement
