Green_carnation Clutched December 26, 2010 Share December 26, 2010 I heard or have read somewhere that there's a vacuum function in a powered hand drill.. and that when drilling, all the dust will be vacuumed into a compartment built-in in the drill. Anyone knows and come across this kinda drill? I wanna get one.. Thanks ↡ Advertisement
GLZT 6th Gear December 26, 2010 Share December 26, 2010 Never heard of it before, maybe you can just drill traditionally with one hand and hold a vaccum cleaner on the other hand? If it exist, I doubt the vaccum is strong enough unless the entire drill is going to be very huge.
Sunlight 1st Gear December 26, 2010 Share December 26, 2010 drilling with one hand is dangerous. better get someone to help hold the vacuum cleaner.
Bystander50 5th Gear December 26, 2010 Share December 26, 2010 if you're concerned about the dust flying around when drilling, there's a cheap n simple solution. Go to those medical shops that sell bottled herbal drinks. Once u finish, throw away the bottle and keep the cap. These caps are usually quite big. Drill a hole ard the center of it. When u are about to drill, position the drill bit n press the cap onto the wall. All the dust will be collected onto the cap. A small amount may spill off. Just vacuum the cap and the hole, the amount of dust is greatly reduced. Been using this method when I do drilling.
GSwhite 1st Gear December 26, 2010 Share December 26, 2010 http://www.hilti.com.sg/holsg/page/module/...p;nodeId=-36181 check it out at HILTI, basically have to select a drill model, and buy this 'dust removal attachment' for the drill. I had seen some workmen using BOSCH with a same kind of dust remval or vacumn, but can't find them in their web. Heard that they're not cheap 4-500++ per set incl drill On 12/26/2010 at 3:27 PM, Green_carnation said: I heard or have read somewhere that there's a vacuum function in a powered hand drill.. and that when drilling, all the dust will be vacuumed into a compartment built-in in the drill. Ngck 3rd Gear December 26, 2010 Share December 26, 2010 just paste onto the wall something like a paper soap holder (fold yourself using A4 or newspaper) under the hole you want to drill.... 90% of the dust will drop into it...... i thought of buying these vacuum type also.. but i think it expensive and so far i never seen one yet. maybe only pro use after how many times you are going to use the drill.... unless its part of your working tools

Thanks depends wat u intend to use it for. these drills with vacuum mostly used by contractors when doing their work in public areas so that the dust do not affect the public. if at home, just any drill with someone holding on a conventional vacuum will do the job effectively.
