Pls search thru threads talking about light weight crank pulleys and you will know the problems associated with it. if you want better acceleration, go for a light weight flywheel instead.

please dun use mod or lighten flywheel in your everyday car. It might just send your engine to the workshop for a complete overhaul due to too much vibration. google more if u want.

I had a lighten crank pulley it in my old car. Help pick up a bit in the low end. Thats about it. Its not too expensive mod. Power/torque gain, not too much. At most 1-2hp if at all.

Its up to you lah. Like Versatile said, after a while, you won't feel the different, I guess its the same with all mod, unless you have mod that increase your hp significantly.

I believe cheaper and easier to inflate tire 10% above recommended pressure

hi bro inflate tyre pressure too high will make u lose grip during cornering right ??

No mention what tyre inflation pressure is too high

No mention what road surface

No mention what travelling speed

No mention turning radius of corner

No mention pattern of tire

No mention weight of vehicle

No mention road adhersion of vehicle design

No mention on driving technique/skill of driver

No idea how to reply with logical/sensible answer

with light weight stuff you won in the resposive time of the engine, but always are problems with this kind of work, is important know how much material yo can remove and then remove less, so you get less effect but your engine must run more time

Do you think the manufacturer purposely put a heavy crank pulley in the engine to sabotage the performance? Please think carefully before performing any mods.

he reason why most aftermarket crank pulleys are a lot lighter is because they are missing harmonic dampeners that help absorb vibrations. Without the harmonic dampener it is much easier for a early crank pulley failure to happen and you'll just end up spending more money.

Actually, the material use is also a factor. Most Manufacturer use carbon steel, which are heaver, while after market ones may use aluminium which is a much lighter metal, but more expensive. From a cost point of view, using the heavy steel makes sense.

Car production is about compromising. When they decided to launch a new car, they will set a target price, & design their car base on this target. They will decide, where to put more money, where less. So it doesn't mean what comes out of the factory is the best.
