We don't really have an identity yet. Most of our 'identity' are either 'manufactured' or borrowed. We will need a lot more time to allow our society to evolve and a true identity formed.

Base on the open gate policy, a lot more times later we still the same rojak. Until the day you accept yourself as a "Singaporean foreigner" and see yourself more of a foreigner then Singaporean, maybe you will feels better when going out of the public. Then every trips felt like holiday in another country.

Identity? Lose, lose lor. Cannot eat one. I dun want later we have to lose more taxpayer money to find smth of no value.

 

Better dan later some outsourcing guru outsource the job to some company. "We dun have the expertise to look for our identity, let's pay someone else to do it". "But what if we blow the budget like last time?". "Nebermind. We just say it's worth it cos you can't put a price tag on national identity."

Seriously, times have change.

Our granparents come from china, Malaysia, indon, Phil,etc.

The short 45years down not a nation make.

The rapid change now, is just another phase for Singapore.

Just has to adapt. Nothing to feel proud about. Just have to toughen up and take care of ourselves.

United Nations of Singapore, our gates are open, do come in and take what u want and then go back to your country (your home) when u have taken enough. Don't worry about the true Singaporeans who are left behind, I am sure there'll still be something left behind for us once u leave. Oh wait, someone left behind his s--t, hooray!!!! Got s--t better than nothing. Thank you thank you thank you gracious FTs for leaving behind your s--t for me when u could have taken everything. For your kindness, I pledge to make sure my sons and my son's sons will work hard in NS to keep u protected and safe when u and your sons are in this country. U can feel safe and know that your sons will graduate and then join the workforce to start his wonderful career immediately without worrying about 2 years of interruption, let my sons worry about that, that shall not be your burden.

The FTs are not interested in national integration. Look at the people celebrating in restaurants, they are mostly pinoy philipinos, china chinese, india indians and indonesia students who celebrate together. Their numbers are large enaf such that they dun even have to invite or gel with locals. What the fish? . Too many slugs will ruin a plant one day also.
