Gnihc11 1st Gear December 19, 2010 Author Share December 19, 2010 Already top up gas on the way up at KL. Came back to Sing, but have to wait for it to happen again before the repair shop can tell me wat happen. Wasted 3 hrs at the workshop with engine running and accelerator step-on with a stone, aircon still cooling. Think must go 110km/h for an hr before aircon breaks down again. Any ideas other than driving up to force out the problem? Wat lines? I did not set anything, its been untouched by me for 3 yrs.

Frankloh 1st Gear December 19, 2010 Share December 19, 2010 Highway driving with low fan speed usually frozen up your aircon pipeline. Next time try increasing the temperature or use higher fan speed when driving long distance in highway.

Consistent low temp with low fan speed may cause this problem.

Tried to change temp up and down, fan speed up and down too on the way back but aircon seems dead. Only when back in Sing, next morning went to look for workshop then can feel the cool air and seems like aircon came back to life. At workshop for 3+ hrs aircon still blowing cold, no sign of sauna to show the mechanic there.

Toeknee_33 Turbocharged December 19, 2010 Share December 19, 2010 Try turning off the aircon compressor but keep the blower running. It works for me. The output will turn cooler for the next 5 to 10 minutes. When it starts to get warm, turn the compressor back on again and the aircon will be back to normal. Repeat again when needed. If your doubt his words, check yourself and you will find crystals in the aircon lines. The only way is to off the aircon for awhile and let the crystals melt away.
