That is because the jap coys channe all their profits back to their jap HQ. Your jap counterparts got alot of benefits there you know, and how to sustain without your kind contribution?!

 

This is my first hand encounter, having lived there for long time. Really envious them as the coy really take goodcare of them. Oversea branches here really gniao lah.

 

Not so bad from my experience working in a Jap MNC. Last year economy not good, Jap HQ staff got pay cut, up to 20%. Lucky local branch not affected, pay freeze only. This year economy good, got 4+ months bonus. [:p]

i seriously doubt mine till be 3-6mths... although my coy currently is a listed company but anyone on top will giv reasons and excuses not to giv so much bonuses... cos until now still not yet announce!!! our norm is jan/feb dan get bonus one...

i ever saw 1 indian guy at a caltex petrol kiosk along thomson road, he was paying money and wearing a Keppel Coverall (White one) and talking on the phone dunno wat vessels wat water. Then i saw a BMW M3 outside, no one in the car.

 

After he paid, he walk towards the M3 and Vroom off in that........................ :wacko: :wacko:

 

I wonder to myself, i got into the wrong trade :( so emo

 

 

Saw one wearing the same white keppel cover all driving a BMW 5 series with full M5 kit near my blk too. Heard from friends keppel group is doing very well for this year. Last year 7 month bonus and this year 7+2 month. Any one working in keppel group here can confirm whether is it true?

Bad times scenario

Japanese companies - try to retain staff but cut salary.

Ang Mo companies - retrench staff and cut salary before hit below red line

Local companies - retrench staff and cut salary.

 

Salary scenario

Japs - Monthly pay lower than Ang Mo but bonus in good times can be 6 mths.

Ang Mo - Monthly pay much higher but 13th month AWS mostly.

Local - Higher than Jap but lower than Ang Mo - AWS and Bonus depend on TaoKay...

 

You choose which one ??

sure anot, i dont think keppel paying so much bonuses -_-

 

 

Keppel shipyard at least 7 month every year till date for the past 5 years and up.

This one confirm.

For now la, you see all the owners now heading towards China & Korea for projects, now only Keppel seems to be getting all the big projects.
